Hi everyone!
I've applied to UMass Boston's ABSN program for the Summer 2021 cycle. Has anyone else? I feel applications are going to be sporifice this cycle!

I agree with everything that Nurse1010 has mentioned. It is one of the most affordable options but be prepared to be on an emotional rollercoaster (at least in my opinion).
Hey, I'm trying to choose between a local program in CT or doing the UMass program and just driving up for clinicals and to practice in the sim lab (have lived in the Boston area for a few years, so I can figure out Airbnb or short-term rentals if need be). No one I've spoken to from UMass administration will give any idea of what the clinicals might be, but they've made it sound like coming up is feasible since it's mostly online. Do you mind sharing what your clinical schedules have looked like?
@ryanc11 Hello, I can give you a mock schedule but just know that it can vary from person to person depending on your clinical professor and your schedule.
We have mandatory weekly Zoom clinicals meetings for minimum of 3 hours. Along with in-person clinicals can be 6-12 hours shift. On campus open labs are on the weekends, usually 2 hours long every 1-2 time a month. Normally, they are all pretty spread out throughout the semester so they don't cluster all together in one week.
Mock schedules:
Monday- Zoom clinicals 12-3pm, Wednesday - in-person clinicals 12-8pm, Sunday- Open lab 10-2pm
Tuesday- zoom meeting 4-8pm, Saturday- in-person clincals 8-7pm
I hope this helps!

Hi all! I saw that you were both from California and was wondering if the program fulfills the requirements for California RN license. I was looking to apply but would want to move back to California right after the program. I asked the school but was not given a yes or no answer.

I got accepted into the Fall semester but have been seeing a number of people talk about how disorganized the program is, and some mentioning they wouldn’t have done it had they known. I’m having serious second thoughts about doing the program.
I would also have to work, which is what’s causing me to question if I can handle everything. Do you know people that successfully completed the program and worked? Are you glad you chose this program?
Hi everyone! I'm thinking about applying to UMass Boston's ABSN program in the next year. Since you all are now a couple of months into the program, I'm wondering how do you like it? What are some good resources for getting started with studying? (Prereqs are all done, just waiting on good timing for my family). Thank you!!
