Hello everyone, starting a thread for the incoming MSN/DNP nurse practitioner track at the University of Miami for the Spring 2019
The role of the nurse practitioner is to prevent, educate and provide wellness, I stated in all aspects of life but you can say in adults(because I'm doing FNP, you are doing the Adult gerontology). The nursing model and patient as a whole part is great haven't heard that one. I mentioned how nursing is the most trusted profession, how patients connect more to us than doctors (they seemed to like that). Also the um NP website has an FAQ section that has some of the questions there, with answers if you need to see what they are looking for.
Hi everyone! A little late to the party lol I also got accepted to the part time FNP program. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted. And to those waiting an interview and interview, questions are pretty basic: tell about yourself, what do you know about FNP, why UM, 5 year plan, strengths, weaknesses, time you advocated for a patient, and then they asked a patho question specific to to my unit. Pretty generic nothing out of the ordinary. They told me I would hear from them within a month but I got my acceptance letter a week after my interview. So I guess it just depends. Btw have you guys seen the tuition? Anyone know if UM has scholarships?
Do not say that. You would of gotten a rejection letter. I'd call the university. Find out what happened. Good luck.
@journey2fnp I believe they do offer scholarships, did you have your interview on August 6th or 7th?I interviewed on the 7th and still haven't gotten an email. I think at this point I'm probably not in :-(
Congratulations to all who got accepted!

Thanks girl! Oh question, how did you answer the question about the role of an NP? I'm thinking of saying the nursing model and taking care of the patient as a whole
