UM FNP Spring 2017 Program

Hello,

I recently applied to UM's (University of Miami) FNP part-time program that starts in January 2017. I was contacted today to set-up an interview and have it for next week. Was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat as me? I am currently an ED nurse wishing to get into this program and meet others that will join me.

Hi mdcRN2011, I had my interview last Friday. They were incredibly fast at notifying, I am so thankful for that!! NursingCAS does take awhile, I applied to spring 2016 last year and by the time I was verified (I finished my application in July 2015), it was already August and too late. Yes UM was the only school I applied to!

When you say too late, you mean nursingcas still hadn't finished verifying the transcripts by the time the deadline passed?

Hello everyone! Please confirm if the "interviews and acceptance letters" discussed in this forum are for January 2017 or August 2016? Just want to make sure. Other friends of mine have told me that they applied like us for FNP Spring (Jan) 2017 and still have not received any letters nor emails of rejection or acceptance. Two other acquaintances advised me that they received Admission Status Letters in the mail, and no emails. The various ways they notify can cause to be uncertain for a while!!!!! Can anyone clarify what is the most common way of notifying applicants? Today, Saturday is day 4 after being told I will be receiving my admission status and nothing in the mail yet! I live in Miami, and it only takes at a max 2 days for mail to arrive locally. Thanks!

I also applied to the Spring 2017 FNP program as well. I had my interview Friday June 17 and I am still waiting on a response back. My wife applied as well and interviewed Wednesday June 15 and got an acceptance email June 24th. Now that she has gotten hers I've been so anxious. My friend who applied interviewed that same Friday as me and got a denial letter this pass Monday. Anybody still waiting?

Hi patrickRN187, congrats on your interview and your wife's acceptance! I also interviewed the same day as you and received my acceptance email on 06/24. I wouldn't worry too much, I know they are working through the many applications they received. It would be amazing for you and your wife to start the program together, I wish you much luck!! :)

Hello. Just wanted to know if anyone got accepted with a GPA slightly lower than the minimum requirement? Also wondering if anyone got accepted without a BSN? I have my ASN and a bachelors in Health Sciences. Thanks!

Hey villarn,

I interviewed for ACNP back on 6/22. Haven't heard anything from the school except during the interview they told me the same "4 weeks until a decision" as everyone else has been told. Best of luck to you and I hope to see you in the program with me!
