First, find out if your unit has individual scope for each baby. Some places don't let you use your own for infection control reasons.
For many years, I used an inexpensive "adscope". It worked fine. ADC Adscope 605 Infant Stethoscope Then I got a Littman. Also great. Probably the Littman was a little better.
Make sure your name is on it. Mine had an allergy band w/a tag saying, "If you steal this stethoscope, your loins will go numb". That worked, esp w/male residents.

Hi all - I'll be starting a NICU position soon and I was wondering if anyone has input on the Ultrascope neonatal stethoscope? How does it compare to the Littman Classic II Infant stethoscope? I have an adult Littman Classic II and love it, but the infant model only comes in 6 colors and I feel like a lot of people will have the same color and it would be easy for someone to walk off with mine...
