Uk travel nursing - recent acute care experience

I am hoping to move to the UK in a few years and practice nursing. I have previously lived and worked there as an RN, have dual citizenship, and was licensed there. What I am concerned with is my lack of recent acute care experience. I have been an RN for over 30 years, done CCU, ICU, ER. Then practiced as a midwife for 10 years. For the last 8 years, I've been practicing home care nursing.

As I have some time before my projected move from Canada to the UK, I am trying to improve my chances at getting a postion with a travel nursing agency and a contract in an acute care hospital. I live in a rural area, it's a long drive to the hospitals, not a lot of vacancies. I've been looking at taking some online ER/ICU courses, maybe taking a certification exam.

Looking for feedback from RN's with experience working in the UK or with travel agencies.

With current job situation and economics in the UK with many NHS Trusts struggling you may find travel nursing isn't popular and a lot will depend on where you plan on living

I currently work in home care, we do a lot of home IV therapy. Google has brought up many jobs for community RN providing IV care. Seems there is some demand. Do you know of any online group of UK RN's where I might explore this option.

I had a phone call from Continental and they seemed to have contract openings in Oxford and a few other towns.

I don't know of any online groups but usually IV care was supported by the district nurses who was employed by Primary Care Trusts
