UK registered nurse wanting to work in America PA

Hi I'm actually a student at the moment at Kings College London. Studying Adult Nursing with registration as a nurse.

I want to know how I would be able to be registered to work in the USA.

I've heard there is an exam called CGFNS and then the state exam after that.

I've read that there are certain areas where UK nurses aren't trained enough in, think I read midwife and mental health? Are there any particular modules I should select (I'm going into year 2 so still have time to select courses which will be more needed)

I will be a greencard holder (by the time I graduate me and my fiancé will be married, he is an American citizen from birth).

Thank you so much for all your help!!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

CGFNS in most cases is just CES which is a report that breaks down clinical and theory hours on your transcripts. Your transcripts need to show both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Adult and Obstetrics. What state are you looking at when you graduate and register with?

Thread ad title says PA, so I'm thinking Pennsylvania
