I'm suprised to learn how long I've been searching for a thread pertaining to the Fall 2016 cycle for UIW Ila Faye Miller Nursing program -Traditional BSN track. Everyone online has been talking about UTHSCSA, Baptist, or SAC so I'm hoping this thread will be a success.
Any how I'm curious as to how many of us have or are applying to the program for this fall 2016. As well as how everyone else feels about Teas scores, cumalitive GPA, math/science GPA, etc.
I'm Posting mine below,since the school website is so vague about the teas score. I mean all they say is (proficient will be considered ). If anyone else is just as curious as I am lets help eachother out with comparing TEAS scores & Gpa's if you dont mind or even if you know someone that has recently been admitted into Sprin2016 or Fall 2015. Im just trying to differentiate from when UIW made the switch From the HESI exam TO the TEAS V , and what were accepted candidates scores like.
I've also spoke with the Nursing Admission Office, and I've been told that Acceptance/denial Letters don't go out till sometime in APRIL:smokin:

If you don't mind me asking what kind of questions did they ask? Did they tell you when they'll give you a definite answer? On my end I received the hard copy of the acceptance letter a few days after the email. Since then I've paid the confirmation fee, and got my fingerprints done also.
Is UIW the only school you've applied? It was more of a personal interview. Now just wait. They gave no specifics on time.
If you look confident and friendly and knowledgeable... they will most likely like you! Keep praying. :) Goodluck again. You don't know when you'll hear back from them?

Thank you!! I do know a couple people who applied and were not accepted. So I will probably go in not knowing anyone. hopefully we will get to know people soon though.. There isn't really as much activity as i'd thought there would be for the fall 2016 semester. Do you know anything about how UIW nursing schedules are? Do you know any current students there?

Wow i feel for them so noone was offered an interview either? Yeah hopefully, i got to find out first if im in tho . & Same here, i thought there would be more people commenting considering it being decision time. Maybe its just not their first choice so they are staying low key.
I'm not positive on the schedule but ive heard in the past that the classes are from like 7 or 8 am to like 4pm or so. Like a full time job or very close. Idk about clinicals or anything else. When i went to take the teas at uiw i met a few students that were in their 1st level of nursing classes but i dont know them know them lol. So no i dont know anyone close to me that applied or that currently attends. Do u know how many people applied in this round? Ive heard #s but dont know how accurate they r.
No, I have no idea how many people applied. I do wish we could get some feedback from current students.. It would be nice to know what to expect as far as the first semester, books etc.
@eebr......Yay! Im happy u got what u truly wanted,even tho ur out the money for now im sure u would much rather got the seat that was offered to u at uthscsa . Good luck. !
