Hello All!
I'm suprised to learn how long I've been searching for a thread pertaining to the Fall 2016 cycle for UIW Ila Faye Miller Nursing program -Traditional BSN track. Everyone online has been talking about UTHSCSA, Baptist, or SAC so I'm hoping this thread will be a success.
Any how I'm curious as to how many of us have or are applying to the program for this fall 2016. As well as how everyone else feels about Teas scores, cumalitive GPA, math/science GPA, etc.
I'm Posting mine below, since the school website is so vague about the teas score. I mean all they say is (proficient will be considered ). If anyone else is just as curious as I am lets help eachother out with comparing TEAS scores & Gpa's if you dont mind or even if you know someone that has recently been admitted into Sprin2016 or Fall 2015. Im just trying to differentiate from when UIW made the switch From the HESI exam TO the TEAS V , and what were accepted candidates scores like.
I've also spoke with the Nursing Admission Office, and I've been told that Acceptance/denial Letters don't go out till sometime in APRIL:smokin:
Adjusted Individual Total Score: 62.0 %
ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Proficient
National Mean : 64.3 %
Program Mean: 70.6 %
National Percentile Rank: 43
Program Percentile Rank: 24
Thanks ,
All appreciated

hey! i was looking to apply to UIW but have yet to take public speaking so I couldn't [emoji19] my TEAS score was a 73.3%! my overall GPA is a 3.6 and my math and science is a 3.5!
I know how you feel! Trust me im sure your chance of getting into the program when the time is right will be no problem for you. I wish my teas score was higher, but im happy it still made me eligible for admission. My overall gpa is a 3.0 & my math &science Gpa is a 3.1. Im hoping on starting the program in fall 2016!
Is this your #1 school of choice?
UTHSCSA is actually! I am finishing up some prerequisites and waiting to apply for Spring 2017. If I get into UTHSCSA, I will definitely go there considering it is cheaper and only 4 semesters compared to UIW's 5 semesters!

Hello, Good Luck to you all! I just found out today I got accepted into UIW. I applied at Baptist and got in there. I accepted Baptist seat since UIW wasn't going to let me know soon. Oh well... I really didn't want to get too much in debt.
Good Luck once again!
I would call uiw because from what i understand. The secretary explained that the email sent yesterday was just a congratulations on acceptance to the UNIVERSITY but not the Nursing Program. Those letters won't be mailed out until 6-8 weeks.
Okay, I'll check.
@rojas210 .Okay let me know what she says, because It is a misleading email.
Okay, I emailed the Secretary and she apologized that it was meant for acceptance to the university:unsure:. They need to rewrite that letter because it was misleading.
Exactly how I felt and she kind of chuckled when I called and said oh no sweetie if you read it carefully it says congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Incarnate Word not School of Nursing. I just told her I'm sure I'm not the only one that understood the context of the email that way. Especially too because it gives history and background of the nursing program and asks you about your decision and what not. It was BS if you ask me but I know how you feel. We just gotta keep high hopes and wait for the next few weeks! We got this. Are you still accepting the seat at Baptist?
Yeah, the ending got me. I read that several times.lol... Yes, I going to Baptist instead. I really don't want to wait any longer since I sat out for two years. Good Luck!
Thank you & Good luck to you on your journey
