UIC Graduate Entry Program

Published

Hi folks,

Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?

My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...

From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?

I emailed to confirm that my interview choice went through on the poll. I was a little confused with the site so I wanted to make sure. For PNP the coordinator sent out the email before A.S. did so I would wait until you get an email from the coordinator for your speciality.[/quote']

What poll? I never got such a link. All I got was the faculty will contact me.

Yea, I'm guessing they are going by specialty. So we will receive an email from our specialty coordinator, hopefully sooner than later!

Thanks, sitten! I know what you mean by the airfare.... But I hope to see you in person! :D

Yep, I actually got the email to register for an interview before the official email from the office of admissions :)

@rain-

I think that Peds made a mistake or something by sending out the actual interview selection invite before the general email was sent out. The poll is where you will select your time slot and will be sent to you by the coordinator. Also, the guy who you always talk to who you gave me the email for isn't the best person to contact about interviews I found out. He was the person I originally emailed to make sure my interview time went through, but he said doesn't really know anything about that so contact your coordinator.

I just looked at some flights and saw some for $208, which isn't too bad. Of course depends on what day this is all supposed to go down.

@hi Good idea- the first time I tried to submit my time choice it didn't go through!

The lady got back to me very promptly so I'd def send an email to put your mind at ease.

Hi everyone! I just got an interview for School/Family Nurse Practitioner specialty! I live in San Francisco as well, so I think i'll be doing the Skype interview. I talked to xyz and he said they give no preference nor judge on whether you choose one or the other interview option as they understand flying can be very costly (given the small time frame), but I'm still a little skeptical especially since I tend to ramble more on the phone (hence my high minute usage) lol.

Hi all! I'm one of those people checking this website daily and not joining in the conversation, so I decided to change that! I never thought that I would even be considered for admission but I received an invitation to interview for Women's Health NP/Nurse Midwifery today!! I was so happy that I was shaking and crying. Congrats to everyone who scored an interview!

Any idea how many people we are up against with these interviews?

Welcome! When you get the link to sign up for your interview you'll have an idea of how many people are being interviewed for your specialty. I know for PNP there are 30 signed up so far with 9 additional spots left.

Yeah dude, I am in southern KY and I think I will do the same. It's just too expensive right now with having a minimum wage job.
