Hi folks,
Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?
My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...
From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?
Am I missing where to upload your transcripts? There was no where on the supplemental application, and the Application Summary page does not give me a spot to upload them (the 'help' screenshot shows that's where it should be).
If my application doesn't get complete, that's okay since I got into my first choice school on Wednesday so I know I'll be going somewhere, but I'd still like to hear what UIC has to offer and their application process sure is making that difficult!
Hey JustD16,
Thanks for telling me about this thread!! It's crazy that the deadline is today. I got all of my letters in, but how do I know that my application is complete? I wish UIC sent an email letting us know that our applications are officially submitted after the recommendations have been received. Good luck to you all! By the way, I applied to the pediatric NP, and from what I've read on older threads, it doesn't seem like many apply for that. Any one apply for Pediatric NP?
On the application summary page there should be a list of your schools, next to them should be an option to upload a PDF of your transcripts. It's really not explained well. Make sure the PDFs have your schools name on them otherwise they won't accept them, I had to buy an official transcript and upload that because my university's unofficial transcript didn't have their name on it. Hope this helps! Good luck to everyone! Hope to meet you all soon!
Yeah, I definitely don't have any schools listed on the Application Summary page. It just has the Payment listed and the Nursing Supplemental Application listed. I e-mailed them but don't expect to receive a response since it is the last day of applications! Sad that I spent $100 on this application but hey, that leaves one more spot for somebody who hasn't experienced the great city of Chicago yet!!
EDIT: Eating my words! They just called me to help me trouble-shoot! Looks like I'll get to apply still!
