UIC GEP 2013

Anyone applying to UIC's graduate entry program starting Jan. 2013? I've glanced at the threads from the past couple of year's and thought I'd start one for the next application cycle. I'm finishing up pre-reqs and taking the GRE in a month. Good luck to all who plan on applying!

I haven't heard anything either confirming my acceptance. they also cashed my check. I even left a voicemail and email.

I haven't heard, but they did cash the check. I think the admissions person was on vacation from like the 8th of May until the 28th of May according to an email I received, so I was planning to call next week if I hadn't heard anything.

Sounds like we are all in the same boat, but at least we know they cashed our checks! I would just feel better having a confirmation from someone that they received our check and are planning on us enrolling in January.

I had e-mailed awhile back with a question, and I got a response today. She said they are going to be setting up some student events in the very near future, so I expect we will be hearing from them. As a former Director of Admissions myself, things take so much time on the administrative end, because everything has to be in compliance. UIC does their application process for this program pretty early on in the year - DePaul and some other general entry programs don't close their applications for Winter 2013 until August, and those folks won't know they're excepted until late September. At least we know we are in. Your cashed deposit is your receipt, and I expect we will hear shortly. It's hard to wait, but hang in there. :)

Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist yet?

To those of you asking about getting an official acceptance letter: about a week or two ago, I got a letter from the College of Graduate Studies (or whatever their official title is) that confirmed my acceptance. I haven't gotten any "packet" as our acceptance emails said.

I just recieved an email from saying "We've received your enrollment deposit form, and have secured your space in the GEP 2013-2014 class."

Yep, I got the same one. Yay!! Sounds like the packet will come via e-mail as well.

Not really, except that I emailed her and she did give me my ranking (but maybe she emailed everyone anyway...)
