UIC Fall 2010 BSN Admittance!!??!! Who has GOTTEN IN??????

Published

Hey all, I am new to allnurses

I am applying for admittance to the Fall 2010 BSN program at UIC!

Who has gotten in so far for early admissions?

I did not apply for that, but I wanted to create a thread where people can post their admittance and what their stats are

to help other people applying for UIC.

Thanks everyone!

Any replies are helpful to me as I am freaking out about whether I will be able to get in since the admissions last year was less than 10 %!!!

Yeah, I got accepted to Aurora and I have already registered for classes.....but UIC Is definitely my first choice. I got an email this morning explaining how the waitlist works. They don't rank the waitlist at all, it's strictly a lottery..... Which makes it even worse because then you really have no idea of your chances. At least if we were ranked we could have some idea of what our chances are. Thank you everyone for your input! Hope to see you in the fall!

Oh when I got my email last year it didn't say anything about a lottery not sure if they changed it but don't know why they would. Anyway, good luck!

The email I recieved specifically states that the wait-list is done by lottery.

This is the exact statement copied and pasted from the FAQ portion of the email:

Q: What are my chances/Where am I placed on the wait-list?

A: It is impossible to predict how many students will accept their offer of admission, so determining a students chances is entirely guesswork. We do not rank the waitlist, and students are selected by lottery from the pool of waitlisted applicants.

I don't know why they would change it either, but I don't like it! Oh well! I've got my fingers crossed and I'll be checking my email every hour! Thank you everyone for the info!

Just wanted to check in with everybody. I've been in contact with Miss Fern and she did confirm that this is the first year that the college of nursing is using a lottery system for the waitlist. She also informed me that in past years they have gotten as far as halfway down the wait-list. Good luck everyone!
