UIC Fall 2010 BSN Admittance!!??

Published

Just wanted to start a UIC thread here since the acceptance/denial letters will be going out soon. I expect to get the decision by April 15.

its May!!! ppl on the waitlist we should be hearing from the From UIC starting Monday till August if we get in...Good luck!! And keep us posted!!!!

Has anyone on the waitlist get any info in regards to how many people are on the waitlist and how many people usually get off?

No  I wish I knew. Have you (or anyone else waitlisted) gotten anything in the mail? The email said we should receive a formal letter in a week or so, and I'm wondering if there is any further info.

I was wondering the same thing! It said it was a formal response form? Do you know what its for? Is it so they can see if we want to stay on the waiting list?

hi everyone, good luck to all of you who applied:)

i am planning on doing the early application for fall of 2011. i was hoping you guys could fill me in on some things.

Does anyone know how essential it is to have experience volunteering or working at a hospital to get into UIC because i am having a lot of difficulty volunteering at any hospital. they have waiting lists and i am not a CNA or anything. has anyone been accepted without that experience?

i do have a 3.8 GPA, finished with most prereqs at one of the city colleges, and can write some good essays but is that enough?

are there any transfer students here who got accepted into the program?

also, has anyone here tried applying for early admissions and got pushed to regular admissions? and if so, were you accepted in regular admissions?

thanks!

Hello browneyedgirl

Here is my stats: (accepted to regular admissions)

4.0 overall GPA

80 hours ER volunteer at hospital

No hospital work experience

Male (may not matter)

When I wrote my personal statements/essays, I focused strongly on my interactions with diverse cultures, real life experiences (I'm 34), and also my financial need to advance my skills/education. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

did anyone on the waitlist hear back yet? The wait is driving me CRAZY!

ok maybe they didnt start calling people yet...hopefully. Did you get into contact with fern? She still hasnt called or emailed me back yet

No, I never tried calling her. What did you ask her?

Someone I know just got off the waitlist so they must have started calling people to get off of it.
