UH Manoa BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all!

I am a transfer student moving to Hawaii next month with my husband, he's military so we'll be stationed there for 4 years. I will be applying to UH Manoa's BSN program for Fall 2018. I have yet to see other threads for this cohort and was hoping I'd get an idea of my chances to get into the program. I know that it is incredibly competitive, so I have my fingers crossed that I will get into the program!

I have an overall GPA of 3.92

cGPA 3.88 (I only have one B in CHEM, the rest all A's)

I have 11 of 12 pre-req's completed except for Public Speech, which they just added. I have however taken Communications.

TEAS score is pending, I'm currently studying for it and am taking it in two weeks! I am super nervous.

I am not a resident of HI so unfortunately there's no point in applying to KCC, I just found out they do not accept non-residents. I have put so much effort into trying to finish my Nursing degree while moving around and am just desperate to get into UH! Anyone else out there applying? I'd love some feedback!

Hi! I am also applying for the BSN program at UH Manoa for Fall 2018. How were your TEAS Scores? I got an 84%.

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a great semester. I'm applying as well, and I ended up getting an 86% on the TEAS.

Hey! Sorry for the late response. I scored 90% on my TEAS. I called the nursing department and looks like they take your best 16 credits for pre-req GPA.

So I applied with:

Overall GPA of 3.92

Pre-req GPA 4.0

Teas: 90%

I am really hoping I have a shot, they told me they have only about 14 spots for traditional BSN students! :(

What are your stats like?

Hi all! I'm a current community college student in southern California thinking about applying for the Fall 2018 cohort, except one thing is holding me back. My TEAS reading score is at an 83.0 which is only .3 away from the minimum. I sent an email to the SON and asked if there was basically any point in me applying. I got a reply saying that they weren't sure since it was so minuscule, but the minimums are generally adhered to. They also said I'm still welcome to send in an application though. Opinions? Should I go for it or not?

Hi! Sorry I am only replying now. It has been a while since I have been on this site :( I took the TEAS again and scored an 87%. I submitted my application with a 3.94 cGPA and a 4.0 GPA. I hope we receive good news this March! Fingers crossed! :D

@taylorr13 If I were in your shoes I would apply, just so that I'm not left with any regret in not applying. I'm from CA too btw, Los Angeles!

We have similar stats! I'm so nervous, they're accepting mostly high school direct students. Hoping for the best!

Hi guys! I currently go to UH Manoa and my overall and pre-requisite GPA is 4.0. My TEAS scores are a little iffy because I mixed and matched them, so I'm not sure what my overall score is. I got 91.5% on reading, 100% on math, 78.7% on science, and 79.2% on English. I talked to one of the Manoa peer advisor, and she said she really isn't sure about my chances of getting in since I didn't meet the requirement for English but it's really close :(

Hey welcome!

The English portion was challenging for me as well, somehow I ended up getting a 95% in that section. I have no idea how, because I struggled so much while studying! Why don't you take it again and apply next year? Your GPA is strong! If you don't get in, I would take it again and apply for the next cohort.

Hey guys! Just an update, letters went out already. I got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday!!

Congrats!! Did they email the people who got in like last year??
