UGH!!!! Stressful morning!

Published

I got online this morning to print a copy of my class schedule (for insurance purposes) and the whole thing was gone!!!!!! At my school, the only reason they will erase your schedule is if you don't pay on time. So I check the calendar online and it says the deadline for Fall 2008 classes is July 30. Ok... why are my classes gone? It's not the 30th yet. I called the school and apparently my payments were due on the 17th because I registered for classes the day they opened. I guess they didn't feel they needed to notify me of this. Ugh. So needless to say I spent the whole morning trying to compose a new schedule that is somewhat comparable to my other one. I am just so upset!!!! I signed up for classes early so I could get the teachers and times I wanted. I was only able to keep my original A&P class. It was the only one that wasn't full. I have to take a harder Chem class (which I would have had to take anyway for my BSN... but still... I was trying to hold off for a while... I wanted an intro...) I had to switch Psychology for Sociolgy... which isn't a big deal but I heard Soc. was harder and that Psych was a good intro for it... and I had to give up my seat in a Statistics class where I know the teacher and I know he has a good teaching style. Plus my Chem class is at a different campus than all my other classes.

Geez. Sorry for the rambling/venting/complaining but it seems like nothing is going well with my life right now. Everything was falling apart except for school... until this morning. Now I just feel like everything is all messed up. Oh well. All this will be worth it one day, right?

I am so sorry. That is truly frustrating.. :icon_hug:

It's annoying how quick they drop you, one of the cc's around here does that..

I would try going the first day of class to the Chem and Statistics classes and see if anyone drops, then you can add it on. That's how I've gotten in to a couple of classes.

I don't think Soc would be any harder than Psych, but I never took Intro to Soc, only Intro to Psych. I took Social Problems and Soc of the Family and didn't think they were hard at all! So I would think Intro would be that much easier. But again, you could try to add the Psych too in place of the Soc..?

Good luck! You're allowed to vent! And it will all be worth it in the end! :D

you should see if your school accepts clep exams and clep the soc. i did it, saved me a fortune and I could focus on my other classes..

hijacking thread for a second..

jt, do you think I would be ok CLEP'ing Soc only having taken Social Problems and Soc of the Family? I'm being told I have to have Intro for the ADN program I'm applying for, that the other classes don't "qualify" :banghead:

Would I have enough of a basis for the CLEP do you think to pass it?

And then how does that work transferring that to a BSN program down the line? Does it transfer in as a grade? Or just as a complete?

Thanks!

i never took a soc class ever!!! I bought the clep book and spark notes studied for a couple of days took the test and passed. You only need 50% to pass i think. I would contact the college you are going to and ask them. The school I went too only accepted soc as a clep, we had to take all the other classes...worth a try. think it was $65.00 to take the test.

Wow...now I'm really thinking about this...much cheaper than paying for the class/book/gas/my time....hmm..I might just have to talk to them about this. Thank you for the info!

Now back to the regularly scheduled thread..:lol2:

Happened to me about five yrs. ago and the bad part about it...Out of the 4 classes, only 1 was available...I was totally upset...Good luck...
