Ufv 2015 sept intake

Published

Hey all. Just wondering what the mark cutoffs will be for those applying for ufv 2015 fall? My gap is 3.43 ... I heard it was 3.5... Haha. I have 140 hours of volunteer.

Ya! I'd love to carpool if you get In, I hope you do! There's still good chances you will I have Lots of friends who still haven't heard back from other nursing schools. You never know! Good luck

Also.. Just wondering what you guys think of buying used books ( at least some of them) I have friends finishing up first year at ufv and I'm tempted to buy some of their books. What do you guys think? Would it be frowned up? Or do you think its acceptable to have say.. Anatomy and physiology books from last semester?

I'm using all my sisters books! (She's going into her 4th year). I used her anatomy books and they don't care at all! :) if anyone needs an anatomy book, I have mine.

Thanks everyone! Don't give up hope. You have tons of time. When o asked how many are on the wait list she said not many at all. My friend got told in August that she was in, and after the second week of school a girl On the wait list got in as well. Good luck !

That's awesome news about the textbooks Sydneyy, I have last years Anatomy textbook that ill be using as well. From what i've heard, used texts are the way to go! I still cant believe how expensive the new ones are.

Does anyone know where you would find used textbooks from?

I spoke to the school this week and they assured me we would be getting the packages next week. In the meantime i needed proof of enrollment and she was able to email that to me - so thats something!

Also, question for everyone - Will you be using a laptop or one of those ultrabooks/tablets? Im really torn with what to get.

books to go is an awesome site to find used texts!

also I heard they're cheaper on amazon!! I was just talking to my sis, and she said dont buy all the texts off the list they gave you!! She hasn't even opened some of her texts!!! She's doing a shift right now, but when she's home, I'll ask which ones she is talking about.

I will be using a mac book! They're awesome :)

Hi Sarahgb, I just enrolled in the Hlth 2121 thru TRU-OL!! Hoping I can get it done before starting school in September at UFV! How has the course been going so far for you? Any tips you've learned along the way? The course is definitely a different layout compared to other online courses I've taken, but looks interesting! Just waiting for my books to arrive, to start. :)

Sorry my last comment was supposed to include Sarahgb's quote from a month back! lol ohhh technology!

I have also had good luck with finding used textbooks on textbookrush.com. Couldn't believe the price savings on my A&P book! Sydneyy that would be awesome if you could share your sister's thoughts on which texts are most useful! :)

Mrsvoowater -I am planning on using my macbook.

This HLTH 2121 course through TRU-OL, that is the transferable equivalent to HSC 116 (pharma) that we have to take in the second semester correct? That is such a smart idea, I wonder if there is still time for me to register?! Im going to look into this.

Mrs vonmooter, yes it is the equivalent to hsc116! I have taken A&P already which is the pre-req for this course I believe! Hoping to reduce my course load down to just 3 classes each semester for first year! You should definitely look into it!!! You can register anytime for it for opening learning, you just have 30 weeks to complete it. Let me know if you do register!!!

The course is going pretty well. It is definitely harder than I thought it would be, but it will be worth the lighter course load in September. I ordered a book called "Pharmacology made incredibly easy" which has really helped me break things down for the course. If you need help at any point, I can always try to help you. Congrats on getting in, it is a great program :)

Good to hear the course is going pretty well! Thanks for the tip on the "made easy" book! I might have to get myself that!!! Do you think you it is doable to finish the course in 3 months? I'm really hoping to write the final in the first week of September (Ideally I'd like to write it in August but I think the finals are set for the second week of August)..... Thanks for the offer to help...I might just take you up on that along the way. I'll try to private message you. :)
