I've seen a couple pages like this for hopeful UFV nursing applicants and figured I'd make one for this coming intake. :)

do you mind sharing your grades and volunteer hours. why do you want to be a nurse?
For sure @katty24
I have 3 A's and 1 B. My reference who gave my hours is the nurse manager at my work (I'm an HCA) so she put the date I was hired, not my hours. I contacted the program and they said just the date was okay.
This might sound cliché but I've really always wanted to be a nurse. Health care and the human body really interests me. There are two major times that I've really known that this is the career for me. Once was last March when I had the chance to work in a medical clinic in Africa and the other was becoming a health care aide this past year. It's really affirmed that I love working with and helping people from all walks of life. I've really enjoyed seeing how miraculous the human body is and I can't wait to go further in health care!
What about you? Have you applied to the January intake as well?

Hello fellow potential UFV Nursing students.
I have my application completed for Winter 2017 BSN intake and I thought that I would start a thread for open discussions, concerns and such. Some of us along with myself have been working on our applications for awhile and very excited about the application, interview process and acceptance.
I will also be starting a FB group in the future for anyone who is interested in joining.
Good luck everyone!

Hello,
I too have been working on my application for sometime, and I am incredibly excited and nervous about the information session and interview process. I've heard that it usually takes a semester or two to get accepted; does anyone else know what there looking for this January as theres less students accepted than September.

After reading many comments on UFV nursing threads I am unsure if my grades will suffice.
I have the following an A in English 12, A+ in biology 12, B in math 11 and a C+ in chemistry 11. I am very worried that my chemistry grade will hinder my application. I am applying for 2017 the January intake. If I am not accepted into the program I suppose I'll retake chemistry 11. I tried taking the upgrading class at UFV because my last chemistry class wasn't recent enough. However, I found the teacher difficult. I'd prefer not to retake chemistry due to my undesirable experience, but if needs must I guess I'll have to. It's quite unfortunate.
Thank you

Has anyone received an invitation for the information session yet? I saw last year for the January session they sent out the emails Sept. 30th but I'm still paranoid. I really really want in haha.
Yeah I'm kinda paranoid too, but I guess we have to wait until Sept.30 then! All the best to you!

They emailed me a few days ago saying they just started reviewing applications and people will hear back in about four weeks time. The interview is a crucial part of being accepted in the program. It is worth the most points.
That's all I've heard from them as well.

Hello everyone, I finally found this page. Looks like this year, they started reviewing application late. I couldn't pass the interview last year but orientation was on sept29th. So i called the school too, I was said we have to wait for another 4 weeks.
Good luck everyone. Keep posted as this will relieve our anxiety.
