Oakland doesn't have a set program for new grads according to their site (I copied and pasted below). They hire ongoing and then give you a preceptor but seems like it isn't a cohort and you have to actively be looking for a position to apply to regularly!

"We hire new graduates on an ongoing basis. Any positions listed as RN I/II are positions that are open to both experienced RNs and new graduates. New graduate nurses should be licensed prior to applying for a new graduate program. If hired, you will spend six to eight weeks working with a preceptor."

thank you so much for sharing this! It is all so confusing! This makes it a bit easier LOL

Of course! Also, I can't find where I read it now but I believe for Oakland you do have to have your license before you apply because it is just an open position and you start when they need you. So just be aware that this is common if you are searching for positions for Oakland and are not yet licensed!

It looks like when applying, you can select multiple units to apply to at the same time - are you guys going to apply for a few at the same time or do them separately? I just wasn't sure what would be best since I might want to cater my cover letter to different units

I honestly have no idea. I am hoping for a NICU spot, but I don't see one yet so still crossing my fingers.

Hi everyone, I also applied! I applied separately for each unit (didn't realize there was an option to do it all at the same time). I uploaded a different cover letter so that it was tailored for that specific unit.

Is there not a NICU opening? I didn’t see one yesterday...

I thought the cover letter and resume was only 1 per account? so would us submitting multiple different resumes cancel out the other ones we submitted for the other units?

If you apply to the units separately it saves each submitted application. When I go in to review the submission it shows the specific resume and cover letter I sent to that unit.

Specializes in PICU, CVICU.

I saw during the webinar that the peds CVICU would be available but I didn't see the job posting; am I just missing it or is it not posted?

Does anyone know if applications are out for the full two weeks?
