UCSF new grad fall 2021

Published

has anyone heard about UCSF's october 2021 application dates yet? and can you apply to the children hospital on this app also?

Congratulations! I got a call from CVT today to for interview next week!

I also received an interview invite for CVT today ? anyone knows how many spots are available for this unit?

Anyone here received any offers yet? I'm still waiting to hear back after my interview and contemplating about emailing to see what my status is. Just curious if I'm supposed to hear from HR or from the hiring managers directly about an offer.

I *think* you should receive a call from the hiring manager/unit director/etc first with the verbal offer, and then if you accept, they will reach out to HR to get your offer letter to you. HR called me first to go over some basic info (pay, benefits, etc.) before they sent my offer letter. That's how it worked for me at least... good luck!

Has any one been given an offer without a reference check first? I am just curious if this is something all the units will be doing or if it just depends.

What was your timeframe from interview to receiving your offer?

Im not too sure. I felt like doing the reference check was one step closer in the application process but maybe someone on here can chime in on this?

Interviewed Monday morning, received offer call Wednesday morning, call from HR shortly after that, then received offer letter by ~noon on Wednesday. I don't think all units work this quickly however ?

Yes, I think verbal offers before reference checks have happened before (I've seen in previous threads), but I'd imagine it's contingent on good references... then they'll get the official offer letter. UCSF won't hire without a reference check. and it sounds like references are generally taken into consideration before an offer is made. FYI, my references were requested before my interview. In prior new grad cycles, it sounded like a reference request meant you probably got the job, but not this cycle.

*this is mostly what I've gathered from reading these threads/personal experience, I am not UCSF HR haha*

Wow yeah that’s super quick! I’m just hoping I hear something before Labor Day weekend starts haha. I was told they were to make their decisions this week.

Same situation for me where I got an email a couple days before my interview.

Congrats to everyone to who in this round! I hope I can get in next round after I've taken my NCLEX.

PS. I work for UCSF already and I'm thinking they may be quick with the offers since we're short nurses right now. I'm thinking they want all the new hires onboarded ready to go ASAP.

Hey! I just wanted to let y'all know that I was offered a position on adult hem/onc Monday. I also found out today that pediatric hem/onc has finished their hiring process. Just wanted to send a quick update on what I know. Goodluck everyone!
