2013 UCSF MEPN Applicants

Hi Everyone!

I will be interviewing for the FNP on January 18th. This is my second time applying. The first time I didn't even get an interview so for all those out there that didn't get one this time, keep trying. It seems as though few people get in the first time, or even get an interview. Did anyone else apply to USF?

Alright! So it's that time to fill out the FAFSA. What status are you putting down for what our GRADE LEVEL will be?

"1st year graduate / professional"

"5th year / other undergraduate"

Thoughts?

1st year graduate because it is technically a graduate program we will hopefully be starting....

I wonder how this works when I'm also applying to other schools (i.e. Columbia) that offers a BSN/MSN. Just go for the lowest common denominator?

Hey everyone! It's been pretty quiet here and thought I'd chime in. We're just 1 week away from our interviews. Are ya'll excited?!!! I'm wondering how formal we're supposed to dress for this? Think suit and tie is a bit too much or just kind of go business casual? Anyone else coming in from out of town? This site is so much quieter than last years folks...

I agree, which makes me wonder if less people are interviewing this year....Anyways! I'm nervous & excited at the same time & I'm also in disbelief that it's gonna be next week. As for dress code, I'd say it's safe to go with a suit. I remember last year everyone wore a suit.

Hi folks,

I'm jittery with nerves but looking forward to the interviews. I am going with a suit after reading last year's posts. Bottom line, I think you should wear what makes you feel most confident.

For me, this is the first time applying.

I was also wondering about how much quieter this year's blog is. I wonder if there is another nurses' blog out there that we haven't discovered. (Anyone?) Also, I think that it's possible to answer a lot of questions by looking at last year's posts so we don't have to ask as many.

Are any of you going to be able to attend the meet-n-greet session on the 26th? It looks like I'll be there. (I kind of wish it happened beforehand but I guess that would give attendees an unfair advantage.)

Oh, and I have decided to also apply to USF, although I'm applying for the Summer cohort. Anyone else applying for that one?

Hey SCWOLF! I've been going over all the questions that magallanes posted. Thanks again magallanes! I'll be attending the meet and greet on Sat too. My friend who graduated from the MEPN a few years ago said everyone wore suits, so that's definitely what I'll be wearing.

You know, I think this years applicants may not know about this site or are just verrrrry verrrrry quiet. I mean if you google "UCSF MEPN" this site comes up as the 4th hit so it's not hard to find.

Does anyone know if the interviews are group interviews or done as individuals? I'd just like to get a sense of what the interview process is like so I know exactly what to kind of expect of the process.
