UCLA New Grad OR Training Program 2022

Hello, I applied to the UCLA OR RN program set to begin in Feb 2022, I believe. My application is under review and I received an email stating that it was sent to hiring manager for further consideration. I was wondering if this is a general message they sent all the applicants or if its a good sign for an interview?  Also, anyone have any experience with this new grad program? Thank you.

Congratulations! I am very excited to start my career at UCLA. My mother in law lives close by, so if anything, I think I will be staying at her place during on call ? .

I was told it was for the RR location operating room. What is MPU , if you don't mind me asking?

hi all! congrats on your offers and new positions. I am applying to the same new grad residency and this may sound silly but who did you address your cover letter to? I was told there are two applications one for medsurge/ED and one for ICU's so I am confused on who to address each cover letter to. I am prepping for the application now and just wanted some clarification if possible!  TIA!

MPU is the medical procedures unit. based off my research, it seems like they do things like colonoscopies and bronchoscopies. Also, did your application status just change to "in progress" and "not submitted"? I'm still waiting for the official offer letter

Hello, I am also waiting for the official offer letter as all I got was an email last week saying I was selected and to wait for official offer letter by end of this week. My status just change right now to in progress. Did yours change just now? I am not familiar with MPU is this position part of the OR program?

Okay sounds like we're both on the same page right now so I think we're good. The MPU is a part of the OR training program but it's going to be separate from the actual main OR itself. Out of the 12 in the cohort, I would think like maybe 1 or 2 applicants would be selected for the MPU and the rest of the 10 or 11 would be in the OR

Oh, got it. Hopefully we get official letter by tomorrow. Been anxiously waiting ? .

Hello! I also applied and received the same email last week. I was a little concerned when my status changed, but I’m glad we’re all in the same boat. Hopefully the official offer letter will come tomorrow!

Just wanted to know when did you guys apply for the OR training program and do you know if it opens up twice a year or once? Thanks.

Hello, I applied to the program in December . Im not sure if its twice a year but I believe the recruiter information is on their website and you can call and ask . Maybe they will be able to tell you when the next application period will open. Other than that I suggest that you check their website frequently, that is what I did and how I found out about the application period. Hope this helps.
