Published

Hey guys,

I'm starting this post for those who applied to UC Irvine Medical Center for their new grad RN residency program!

Hey! I didn't realize you created this until after I created one too for UCI haha, my bad!

What units did you apply for and have you heard back from any?

You're good! I actually just applied today for cardiac care ICU. Haven't heard anything. Have you gotten your RN license yet or not yet?

I applied without a license since I'm graduating this may.

Yes, I graduated in October and have my license. You're starting super early for a job search!

Yeah, I went out-of-state for nursing school and a bunch of people in my cohort already got jobs lined up.

Specializes in ICU/Med-Surg.

Thanks for creating the post! it sounds like you have not graduated yet.

I did also applied to many jobs prior to graduation too! It might be different for out of state hospitals but I noticed that more hospitals are requiring RN license prior to applying to their hospital or prefer/priortize those candidates who have their licenses especially in California because the market is overly saturated.

Also, for most of employers, their HR reviews candidates' applications and filter out those apps that do not meet the minimum requirements such as degrees, licenses.

Because I learned this in a hard way, I wanted to share my previous experience applying to hospitals prior to receiving my degree (One of the manager literally called me to apply later LOL... how embrassing).

But there will also be some employers willing to look over apps. So do not be discouraged and I would suggest to keep your eyes open for more opportunities! ?.

Hello!

Does anyone know when the last date to apply for these job positions and whether there is a limit to how many of the clinical nurse I jobs we can apply to?

Thank you in advance ?

Hi! I would say apply as soon as the postings are up. I don't know if there's any limits. I've been applying to all of them as they get posted.

Awesome! Thank you for the advice!

Hello! Just to confirm- there is no formal application for UCI's new grad program, correct? Would I just need to apply to any of the Clinical Nurse I positions?

Correct! If you get the job, they will put you in the program.

Hi! Anyone know when the cohorts start? It says the program is biannually and I'm looking to apply but cant find any information about start dates or application dates.
