Has anyone been hired at UCI Medical Center for the New Grad RN Program starting July 20, 2009?
I also did not have a preceptorship in ICU, but did have critical care as a course to achieve my BSN and had a semester or rotations through the MICU. However, I did have a preceptorship/externship on an Acute Surgical Floor with telemetry. I also thought the interview was a little rough, but am blessed with the news and can't wait to start.
Majan RN - I actually haven't checked online yet, but SC told me that it wouldn't be available till tomorrow - so I'll just wait to do it then. Do you live near by or are you planning to relocate? I live around 100 miles away and am looking to move, but I have no clue where to go! So crazy that we have less than a month till the start date!!
Katie33- Yeah, less than one month left is surreal! I'm so excited though. I actually am from SoCal (maybe 15 miles away from UCIMC), BUT have been in another state for the past 5 months.....LOOOOOONG story. Excited to move back close to family and super excited to work for UCIMC. Fullerton is close by and has good apartments, so does anaheim and Orange....really depends on your price range. Orange will be a little expensive but you can find some reasonable apts in Anaheim.
Let me know when that link shows up on HR website to accept the position. I just looked and it's not there yet, but of course it's 8:30 AM my time and 6:30 AM in CA so I don't expect anyone working in HR just yet.
Anyway, congrats again and good luck with the move.

CONGRATS katie33!! While I interviewed last Monday as well, I just received my rejection email. Sucks, but on to the next one. If I may ask, what was your preceptorship/clinical background? I did not have ICU for my preceptorship [thrown into Med-Surg], so I knew going in that it would be an uphill battle. Thanks in advance and CONGRATS you're a working RN!!
