U.S.A. California

Has anyone been hired at UCI Medical Center for the New Grad RN Program starting July 20, 2009?

HEY EVERYONE!!!! I JUST GOT A CALL AND ACCEPTED THE POSITION!!! I am so gracious at this moment! I hope the both of you also get calls within the next few days. I was interviewed on the first day possible, so they definitely aren't done calling yet. Good luck to you!! Let me know what the verdict is :)

CONGRATS katie33!! While I interviewed last Monday as well, I just received my rejection email. Sucks, but on to the next one. If I may ask, what was your preceptorship/clinical background? I did not have ICU for my preceptorship [thrown into Med-Surg], so I knew going in that it would be an uphill battle. Thanks in advance and CONGRATS you're a working RN!!

Same here, MANYLYNURSEMAN. I had stepdown ICU for Capstone, so I knew it would be kind of a stretch as well. But we gave it a good try and there are more opportunities to come. Congrats Katie33!!

Hey everyone, I just got a call and I accepted too! Sooo excited! Congrats Katie33! Btw, were u able to accept online yet? I tried but the link is not there yet, so I'm thinking HR is closed and we'll see the link in the morning! Good luck to everyone else!

I also did not have a preceptorship in ICU, but did have critical care as a course to achieve my BSN and had a semester or rotations through the MICU. However, I did have a preceptorship/externship on an Acute Surgical Floor with telemetry. I also thought the interview was a little rough, but am blessed with the news and can't wait to start.

Majan RN - I actually haven't checked online yet, but SC told me that it wouldn't be available till tomorrow - so I'll just wait to do it then. Do you live near by or are you planning to relocate? I live around 100 miles away and am looking to move, but I have no clue where to go! So crazy that we have less than a month till the start date!!

Katie33- Yeah, less than one month left is surreal! I'm so excited though. I actually am from SoCal (maybe 15 miles away from UCIMC), BUT have been in another state for the past 5 months.....LOOOOOONG story. Excited to move back close to family and super excited to work for UCIMC. Fullerton is close by and has good apartments, so does anaheim and Orange....really depends on your price range. Orange will be a little expensive but you can find some reasonable apts in Anaheim.

Let me know when that link shows up on HR website to accept the position. I just looked and it's not there yet, but of course it's 8:30 AM my time and 6:30 AM in CA so I don't expect anyone working in HR just yet. ;)

Anyway, congrats again and good luck with the move.

Congrats to Katie33 and MajanRN. It seems like a wonderful opportunity for both of you. Like a previous poster said...on to the next one. Can't wait until I am the one who gets the "job offer" call.

Thanks TLS11. And believe me, your time will come. Just be persistent and patient. A sincere good luck to you. :)

Thanks TLS. I recently just graduated, but the waiting game is definitely the most difficult part! You'll get one soon! UCSD opened a while ago, try looking there! :)

Majan - check your inbox's for this website... I sent you a message
