UCF traditional bsn 2020

Published

I know this is kind of early, but I just wanted to know, for the people who are applying to ucf's traditional bsn program for 2020, what are your stats? I was looking at the forum for last year's applicants and that got me really nervous since many of those people had some pretty amazing stats, and some didn't even get accepted. I plan on applying to either Daytona or Orlando campuses, though Daytona is my first choice

Yes I will be accepting the cocoa one! It does make sense. I was a little sad at first but now I'm excited about this new journey.

I wish you the best on this exciting journey!! I am super excited too, I can't wait to start! ?

Hey y’all,

First congratulations to all! I’m a junior nursing student at the Cocoa campus. I couldn’t help but comment, students who were waitlisted through the regional campuses have a good chance of getting off the waitlist. Some people in my cohort were accepted from the waitlist, so keep your hopes up! If anyone has questions about the curriculum, clinicals, labs, schedule, I’ll try to answer it based on what we do in Cocoa, (might be the same for Orlando/Daytona).

Hi! Thank you so much! I wanted to ask your opinion on having a job throughout nursing school. I've heard mixed opinions so just wanted to hear yours! Also what are some tips that you can give on balancing between learning material for lab, lecture, going to clinicals and everything else? I can imagine that it gets pretty hectic at times. Thanks!!

Also, this is quite early but for those that are planning on going to Daytona campus, can we make a group chat? That way we can discuss any questions specific to that campus. ?

Personally, I did not work my first year because it does get overwhelming. I do know other students who did work 3-5 days and they manage their time efficiently and pass with very high test grades. I keep my notes in a binder for each class and combined lecture and lab into one. What you learn in lecture will be applied to lab and clinicals, so it’s never separate. Most of the lab work are submitted online and for clinicals I just used a folder to store my finished assignments. Big tip, organize your files into folders. Had about 20 powerpoint presentations for my Adult 1 exam, that can become unorganized real quick, thus increasing stress.
Oh p.s become friends with the seniors in your campus. They will 100% give you free pdf files to the textbooks, will save you hundreds of dollars. If you don’t mind not having a physical copy ofc.

For those waitlisted, does anyone know if we can find out where on the list we fall?

I just found this thread, while trying to figure out my next step. Crushed to find out I was waitlisted for Daytona campus. ?

My Stats were

Overall 3.8

Science 4.0

and TEAS 86

I was applying as a transfer from community college

I hope you get off that wait list and accepted into Daytona! I don't know the exact details but I'm assuming its based off of statistics. I'm sure you can contact the College of Nursing to get details though. Stay positive!!

Also did you apply to any other campus or just daytona?

Not early at all. People can remove themselves or add themselves as they get accepted to another college of choice or as they get accepted off the waitlist ? If you go to the Apns at Ucf facebook page (the one with 800 people) a Daytona groupme was posted. Hope this helps ?

Oh! I didn't know that they made one already! I'll go check it out!

Don't feel too crushed. A lot of people that were waitlisted last year got in. There are a ton of nursing schools around here and many people will choose to take a spot at other nursing schools that are closer to them or better suited for them (even though UCF is the BEST :P)

I don't think anyone can tell you where you are on the waitlist. Just keep an eye on your e-mail. You can always reach out to an adviser too.

Sending good vibes your way. I hope you get in soon!

I was waitlisted from all 3 campuses as well ? I tried asking about the spots on the waitlist but they said they don't release any information about that. I am guessing it is off statistics then.

My stats were

Overall: 3.7

Science: 3.8

TEAS 88.0

I am applying from out of state from Sacramento State University

Hey guys..has anyone who is on the waitlist heard from UCF yet? I’m a transfer student and I was waitlisted for all three campuses
