UCF Summer 2018 Second Degree BSN

Published

Is anyone else applying to the Summer 2018 Second Degree BSN cohort at the University of Central Florida? It seems like it is taking forever for the actual application to open up (January 1).

Hoping to see some other folks just as excited as I am!!

Applied on Jan. 3 and still missing the prerequisite check as well.

On a side note - has anyone heard anything about the program? I've been able to connect with students at other schools to get some "gouge" on what to expect. Unfortunately, I haven't made contact or heard from other UCF students. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything.

I've applied as well. I applied last year but didn't work out for personal reasons. I'm PRAYING this year I get in!

GPA 3.65

TEAS 87

Science PreReqs 4.0

Getting a little worried seeing everyone else's amazing stats.

I have all greencheck marks now, I applied on the 1st. And I actually joined the facebook group for the 2017 2nd degree BSN program and was able to talk to the people currently in the program. They were all super nice and were willing to answer all of my questions, I definitely recommend doing that!

I got all my check marks earlier this week. It seems like they go through the TEAs scores or prerequisites one day and then move onto the other category the next. Shouldn't be much longer before you see them. I applied on the first and didn't get them till now.

I got an email tonight from an advisor from the nursing school informing me that I had to submit a petition form for substitution for my Anatomy/AP1 and Physiology/AP2 courses. I was able to submit the form about one hour later but now I am freaking out! Has anyone else received an email like this?

I applied on January 4 but I still haven't received a check for prerequisites. It's almost the 15 and I'm getting nervous now...

Wow everyone's stats seem incredible. Im pretty nervous my stats are:

GPA 3.56

Teas 92.7

All Pre-reqs 4.0

Im also pretty nervous about their scholarship. Supposedly they awarded 17 half and full tuition scholarships last year. I wonder how many they'll award this year and if they weigh some scores more heavily than others.

You guys all seem to have great stats. I'm more worried that I'll probably get wait listed and hopefully get in that way. Looking at the previous year's thread, there seemed to be a good amount of people who got in from the wait list.

GPA 3.3

TEAS 90

Science Prereq 4.0

Nonscience Prereq 3.8

Since we have to wait for a decision to be made, I have a question - Does anyone know what the schedule for classes/clinicals is like? I'm wondering how feasible it would be to work a part time job if I'm accepted.

I've talked to the people in the current group and they all said that its really hard to keep a job during the program. They told me the schedule is lecture on Mondays and Wednesdays from around 8:30-4, labs on Tuesdays from either 8-1 or 1-6, and clinicals on Thursdays and Fridays. Clinicals can vary a lot, some are like 9 hours and some are only 3. So if you need to work maybe only do like 1 or 2 shifts a week.

Does anyone else have all their checkmarks but their application status still says Under Review?

My boyfriend is currently in the program. He said that decision letters go out the first week of March. He and many in the cohort highly suggest not working during the program if you can help it.
