UCF DNP 2019

Published

Anyone else here apply for UCF (Central Florida) DNP program? I applied for the FNP track for 2019. I applied through the non-nursing bachelor's path as I have a BA in chemistry, MPH, and an ASN RN.

Hoping to find out soon!

I just attended the online orientation today and it seems like online for about the first year and then once you start getting to the clinical courses and courses with labs you have to go to campus once or twice every other week. I live about 1.5 hrs away and will be making the drive. Keep in mind the counties that they do clinicals in as well.

Wow, thank you so much for this information ? I guess my acceptance was pretty late, I already feel so behind! I can definitely handle every other week, I was concerned about it being twice or three times a week, since one of my coworkers seems to be taking trips down fairy often.

They did say to expect to do clinicals at least two days per week. So probably will have to travel for those days too but they try to place you as close to your home as possible within the 9 counties that they use. Don’t feel behind. The online orientation wasn’t really anything you couldn’t find online. However they really emphasized how much of a time commitment the program is and the high standards that they have. And to begin thinking about your research project which will be a big part of the program for the next three years.

Hey guys! I might be bumping a slightly old thread but i am looking to apply to the UCF program next Feb for Fall 2020 and i was just wondering if anyone knew of any information in regards to average GPA, amount of people accepted, ETC. Im looking to apply for the FNP DNP part time and i know they changed it this there where we are not required to take the GRE

I know they weigh the essay pretty heavily. I had a 3.5 gpa, 1.5 year RN experience, a BS in Health Science and a BSN. I’m not sure how many students get accepted but I was accepted to the FNP DNP. Good luck!

I am also applying for Fall 2020 and have submitted my paperwork. I was told by graduate admissions that a GRE is required. I have a pretty fair GPA as well so ?‍♀️now im kind of curious which way it can go lol.... I am going to start some graduate courses as she recommended that I can rollover into my degree program to lighten up the load when I finally start. Good luck!

Did you have to take the bridge work before applying to the program?

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

Sorry for the late response ... but yes, I did do the bridge classes before applying. I was taking the last course the semester I applied.
