Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.

I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

Thanks for all of your responses.

Best of luck!!!

Well that will be interesting. I guess I better find a daycare with extended hours...

I'm hoping to make friends with other parents in the program so maybe we could trade kid care on clinicals nights

Hi everyone!

I haven't been on allnurses since taking the TEAS and applying to the program... I also got an invite for the interview! Wanted to say HI and I look forward to meeting everyone... Its great everyone seems so friendly...I just moved from Miami and look forward to making friends and having study groups! :-) Good luck to everyone!!!!

Welcome to the site again!

Are the emails for accelerated and basic?

Mine is just for accelerated.

Basic won't find out until after accelerated decisions go out.

Well I didn't get an email so I guess I wasn't offered an interview. Good luck to all who are interviewing on the 22nd.

I have not gotten an interview invite yet either and will be calling them to verify. Honestly I believe my GPA and TEAS is aligned with those that I've seen mentioned on here that got interviews. They have nothing else to really base a decision on and since they made a mistake once telling several of us we were not candidates due to communication problems I pray that is again the issue. I can not fathom not beining invited for an interview. If some of you don't mind who got interviews what was your cum, pre-req GPA's and TEAS scores? Is there something else I am forgetting that they could look at? Supposedly they don't care what your first degree was in!?!?

I'm sorry to hear that. I think it's a good idea to call tomorrow and verify. I'm also hoping that perhaps they haven't sent out all the invitations yet and they will finish this process this week.

My stats:

Cum GPA: 3.91

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Teas: 86

What were yours?

Teas-92

Cum gpa 3.5 (they don't count grad)

Pre-req-4.0

Undergrad- Psych

Masters- Counseling w/ professional licensure for rehab.

I hope it was a mistake- good luck with the phone call. My fingers are crossed for you.

Cum GPA: 3.5

Prereq GPA: 3.9

TEAS 89.3

See not far off. I'm still hoping for the best but at the same time I trust God's plan in all this and perhaps he thinks the basic program is better for me. I know there are a lot more applicants there but I also like to think that those of us who have degrees behind us might be better candidates there than the first time crowd. I like the idea of a slightly lesser load but hate the thought of it starting a semester later and taking a semester longer!

I feel like they should have done all the inviting by now since you guys are to start calling to "book" appts in the morning. Unless they start inviting an afternoon crowd now and that is why were are only 24-36 interviewee spots. Perhaps they don't realize threads like this exist so we know people are invited and the rest of us are bumming about it!

How are you computing 24-36? There is an interview every hour from 9-12pm. The email said that the interviews will be conducted in groups of 4-6 candidates. That would mean 4x6(max) which 24, however, this wouldn't make any sense for CON because there are 60 seats in ABSN. This means that there will most likely be multiple groups of 4-6 candidates at each hour.

Anyways. I'm going to keep your in my prayers tonight. Good luck and let us know what they said.

Btw, I'm planning on asking tomorrow about the number of candidates that will be interviewed on 03/22. Hopefully we'll get some answers this way. :)
