UCF ABSN Summer 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I haven't seen a thread for this upcoming cycle yet. The application opens in January and I was wondering if anyone else was planning on applying.

Does anyone have a clue whats in the "nursing pack" besides bandage scissors. And where do we even purchase it?

I'm also really curious what the clinical hours are supposed to look like in terms of which/ how many scheduled days for each course. I'm assuming they're full-day/ shift sessions but I can't find more information anywhere.

Wondering the same thing so I can drop to part time at my job, but I have no clue what my availability will be ?

I'm not sure if this helps, but in 2018's forum, someone mentioned what the schedule would be like for the 1st semester (click on Feb 6, 2018):

In an email it said that we have a mandatory orientation on May 7. Do we still have to sign up for the transfer orientation, as well?

Yes, the next one is on 4/24

Yes, I couldn't find any open spaces for the April orientation sadly and then I had to switch from the May 7th to the May 8th transfer orientation which is a bit tight since classes start on the 11th.

Does anyone know how we are supposed to get our books/what books we need?

I got mine done at quest. Make sure you go to one of the locations listed cause not all locations are linked up with the castlebranch system. They just wanted us to do the social distancing in the waiting room and all the employees were garbed up. But I don’t think the labs are closing. Sooner might be better than later if restrictions get worse. But the due date also isn’t for a while.

What was the drug test like? I’m going on Friday.

It was just a urine test. You need the paper with the barcode that you get from castlebranch and your ID and you pee in a cup. Easy peasy. I think I got my results the following day or the day after.

Great, thank you!

Does anyone know if there is an actual immunization form for the College of Nursing that needs to be filled out or just a copy of our immunization record? I have the CON Student Health Form they sent out, but I didn't see a specific space for the vaccines to be filled out on there.

There is! If you go to studenthealth.ucf.edu under the "forms" page, theres an immunization form.
