UCCS FNP Spring 2017 applicants

Hey everyone!

I'm applying for the FNP program at UCCS for the Spring 2017 start. Anyone else?

I'm so nervous!

Hi, how are you all doing in the course? Any advice to an incoming student? I'm starting in the UCCS MSN FNP program Spring '18. I'd like to network with other FNP students in the program. I live in rural Colorado. It would be great to get an online study group going. Thanks

UCCS is probably just like any other online learning platform. A lot of it is reading (A LOT) and teaching yourself through discussions, case studies, etc. Our professors seem nice however I wish they used videos more often as I'm an audio learner compared to reading. My biggest quip is make sure you take great notes and print off resources because black board (the platrform they currently use) does not allow you to access previous course content once the class is over.

I'm extremely nervous about clinicals. I have been looking for fall 2018 for about a month and so far I've had a lot of "no"s or no responses. I've been told they haven't had an issue with this; however, I'll say I'm starting to panic. I've been in a year, go part time and work full time. Its a lot of work and time consuming. Take GREAT notes. Teach yourself. Realize this is a time commitment.

Also starting FNP program part time in the Spring of 18, would appreciate insight to what the program is like- I am currently taking the Policy class through CU Denver and it is definitely work, discussion posts, video reflections, a group paper... I probably spend 10-12 hours a week on it, but its doable to still work full time... nervous about how UCCS will compare with assignment load... thanks!

I am starting UCCS FNP program part time Spring 2018. I would love any advice, study tips, or people to reach out to when needed. Super excited to start!
