UCCS ABSN 2020 Cohort

Published

Hi! Just wondering if anyone else received acceptance/waitlist letters for UCCS's (in Colorado Springs) accelerated BSN program starting in May 2020. Hoping to meet some classmates before it starts! If anyone is currently in the program or has attended in the past, I'd love to hear any feedback or advice as well! ?

Hi! I am planning on applying to the acc BSN program this fall for the may 2021 cohort. I am wondering what your gpas (overall and prereqs) looked like and your hesi 2a scores? I'm hoping my grades are competitive (previous bachelors in psych 3.3 and all my science prereqs so far are 4.0) ?. Thanks and best of luck to you in the program!

Hey! My overall GPA was between 3.5 and 3.6 with a major in Integrative Physiology. My HESI scores are as follows:

-Reading Comprehension: 96% (class average: 89%)

-Grammar: 100% (class average: 88%)

-Vocabulary: 98% (class average: 91%)

-Math: 98% (class average: 92%)

-A&P: 92% (class average: 82%)

-Biology: 92% (class average: 87%)

-Chemistry: 100% (class average: 87%)

***Cumulative: 96.57%***

I heard that they rank the HESI a lot higher than your GPA, so I spent about 3 months studying for it! Good luck applying! Please feel free to message me with any questions about the HESI or how the program goes. ?

My overall gpa was 3.3 and my HESI was 98%. They dont have a grading system but you’re right about HESI being ranked higher than gPA. I think you will be fine, just study for HESI a month or two before you take it. I bought the Mometrix HESI study guide and it was really helpful.
