Hey everyone,
I didn't see a topic on this but UC Davis has opened up their applications from 9/14 to 9/17 for a December Cohort this year. Has anyone else applied?
Sorry for another quick question about references - if we are asked to enter our references "within 48 hours (2 business days)" of receiving the SkillSurvey email, I'm assuming it doesn't count Sat/ Sun? I just sent my instructors emails asking if they are okay w/ doing references, but some don't always check their email...

Hi everyone! Is anyone interested in UC Davis’ ORTP? If so, have you been contacted for an interview?

JUST GOT THE JOB OFFER LETS GO
OMG congrats! Best of luck to you!! Thank you for answering all of my questions (and everyone else's too!)
I also wanted to update everyone that I interviewed for the NICU on Friday and received an email with a reference request this morning!! I was so happy. I hope this is a positive sign that my interview went well!
Since we were discussing references earlier, I wanted to update you all on that as well (and the future cohorts of anxious applicants who will probably read this).
I was asked for a minimum of 5 references, with a minimum of 2 from a current/former manager/supervisor. It did not mandate that you had to have a nursing manager as a reference. It also said that if you were unemployed you could list your most recent manager or if you did not have enough job experience to list a manager, that you could list professors/teachers/instructors instead. It also said that if you were unable to give a recent/current manager as a reference due to policy or other reasons that you could give two former managers AND email a PDF copy of your most recent performance evaluation.
The references I submitted were: 1 current manager in a non-healthcare industry, 3 former professors/clinical instructors from nursing school, and I listed my nurse preceptor as a former manager since there was no "preceptor" category available and I felt that labeling my preceptor as a manager was the most accurate, since she wasn't a professor.
The link that you are sent lets you fill out the references' names, titles, emails, phone numbers, etc., but you can't send out the reference link until you have submitted 5 people. You can also look at a sample of the survey they will be sent and a sample of the automated email. The survey asks questions about work ethic, behavior, clinical skills, etc.
Kind of frustrating that we have to ask our references to do all this work for us, since I'm sure a lot of us have also asked these same people to write letters of recommendation, but this is just the new wave of on-boarding/recruitment I guess. Who would have thought even references/recommendations could be reduced to an algorithm?
Best of luck to everyone! I hope this reference request means I have an impending job offer.
@Josh A Just a quick question, if you (/anyone else) are comfortable answering - between your interview date, getting all your references in, and receiving the job offer, what is the timeline of how long everything takes? I can't handle the anticipation, esp since I feel like I failed the interview ?

Oh they don't need the references letters, you send the references a online survey regarding your skills(less than 30 questions). Even if you don't have two managers you can out your nursing instructors/preceptor, its just recommened
