Hello everyone,
I am a current SRNA student in the UAMS DNP-CRNA program, there's not sufficient information about this program because it is new. We are the first cohort and it might sound scary, unprepared, not-tested, and etc. Those were the exactly same thoughts I had when I applied. I applied to other schools and got accepted to a total of 5 CRNA programs (search through the forums, as I won't name the schools) and they were all great and competitive, all of them accept less than 20 students, one even 6-7 students. So what made me choose UAMS, to be exactly they care about my background and who was I, not just grades or if I can answer clinical questions. Our program is so diverse, everyone has a different story but we work well as a team. Our director (Dr. Gonzalez) and assistant director (Dr. Dunavan) are literally the best. Some feel like they are our 2nd parents of how much they care about us and want us to succeed. It makes you work that much harder to better yourself and not let them, your team, and lastly yourself down. It's a great school and I do not have any regrets.
I will update this as I gather new/updated information.
If anyone has any questions please ask them below, I will not answer interview questions or what they asked.

If someone could answer these questions I would GREATLY appreciate it.
1) When will interviews be scheduled and when should we hear back?
2) What is the dress code for SRNAs?
3) During the first year, what days were you on campus? Second year?
I have been accepted into another program with an earlier start date than UAMS. I am really excited about this program, and think that's where I'll attend. However, I am interested in knowing more about UAMS.
Hi! I started the program last fall and can answer a few of your questions!
For our cohort, I believe the application deadline was not until Mid-January-ish, so the timing may be different since the most recent app deadline was Dec.
I was actually emailed (Feb 12th) and called (Feb 9th) by 2 different people at UAMS for invitation to schedule the interviews, which was a little confusing. Interviews for us were scheduled for either Friday, February 26th, or Friday, March 5th. Prior to the interviews, we were invited to a virtual Meet and Greet session with current SRNAs to ask questions about the program - there were 2 sessions, on the 19th of Feb and the 25th of Feb.
I received the phone call on Monday, March 8th that I was accepted!
Dress code is business casual for class. Ladies in dress/nice pants and blouses (covering the shoulders, no cleavage) or sweaters. Guys usually either have on nice jeans, khakis or dress pants with a collared shirt or button-down.
As far as the days we are on campus, first semester is only Thursdays. Anesthesia classes are all in-person, the rest of the general DNP classes are online because they contain more than just the anesthesia students. Second semester on-campus days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Wednesdays for sim lab. Summer/third semester I have been told will be on-campus 4-5 days a week. I am unsure about fall semester of year two, but I believe it is still a mix of some on-campus and some online. Clinicals begin in the Spring/fifth semester.
Hope this helps!

Bless you for calling and posting this!! I’ve been a nervous wreck and checking my email every day for weeks. Hope to hear some good news for everyone!

Yes. Did you see the separate email to apply for the scholarships/FAFSA too? It is kind of crazy how close it is to find out with regards to the start date. It doesn’t allow much time for planning everything out LOL.
