UALR 2019 NURSING APPLICANTS

Hey y’all ! I wanted to start a forum for the 2019 applicants for UALRS nursing program! I have a 3.2 in my nursing prerequisites and a 2.8 gpa with the university! I have all prerequisites done except for Chem ( I am currently taking micro now, spring 2019) And I am hoping to get accepted into the accelerated program. I thought this forum would be useful for us to keep up with what’s going on as far as letters going out , and program requirements!

Quick question...does anyone know if the nursing department lets us know when they have received the application package that you mail in? I’ve been having some issues with the mail getting my transcripts and shot records to the undergrad admissions office, so just want to make sure that’s not the case with my nursing application as well. I’ll call and make sure they received everything if I dont hear from them soon, but just thought I’d ask here first.

I tried to call, because I was nervous that they didn’t have everything they needed. They told me they would email me if they needed anything else. The lady wasn’t very helpful though!

I’ve taken it through my training with the military as a lab tech but they aren’t taking it so I have to take it again. I’m trying to decide if I should take it at UALR or Pulaski Tech.

I’ve taken several classes at UAPTC And I’ve had the best teachers. All of them have been amazing!

Okay that’s good to know. So far my experience at Ualr hasn’t been bad but I’ve heard Pulaski tech has great chemistry teachers.

I haven’t taken chem yet I am enrolled in microbiology now! I have all my other prerequisites! I applied last year and got accepted to ualr to start in the 2nd half in July but couldn’t start because my financial obligations weren’t in order! I’m hoping to get accepted to start with the May class this time! They will send out the first batch of letters in March before spring break

they don't, you have to call and check yourself. they only notify you if you have information missing from the application, like transcripts , etc

ive heard through the grapevine per credible source that there weren't a lot of applicants this year for the program surprisingly so we all might get accepted to start in may. im keeping fingers crossed for us all! they will possibly be staring to send out emails march 8th up until spring break!!! I am so anxious. I want to start with the may class this time, if not ill have to go ahead and go to Baptist because I cant afford to wait to start with the july class and potentially not pass (God Forbid), because then ill have to wait until January to apply to ANY PROGRAM and im not doing that again. if I get accepted with mays class , and don't pass at least ill be able to do Baptist in july.

Thanks for the info! I really hope they do send out notifications in the next week or two. I know the deadline just ended but I feel like I’ve been waiting forever since I applied as soon as applications were available. I’m also hoping to start in May that way Baptist can be a backup if things don’t go well.

Thanks for letting us know. March 8th is next Friday, time is flying by. I asked about the July class in my pre-admission meeting and they said they aren't doing it this year. Praying we get in!

It’s a nerve-wracking wait for sure! I wonder why they wouldn’t have as many applicants as other years? I’ve heard from a few folks that it’s a great program!

Wow! Didn’t know that!!! That’s crazy! That must just confirm the fact that there weren’t a lot of applicants! Jesus I really gotta apply for baptist now!
