UAB MSN Summer 2016 Hopefuls!

Hi everyone! I am a student in UAB's RN-BSN program and in my final semester. I applied to the FNP program for Summer 2016 entry. I'd love to meet with other MSN Hopefuls for entry in this semester! Good luck and hope to find some folks to endure this stressful wait until decisions are made!

I'm getting close to that point..I'm able to get into blazernet but nothing has changed. Hopefully it won't be too much longer I would just like to know either way.

Is everyone who applies given a Blazernet ID?

I'm not sure about that, I was going to transfer there during my undergraduate study so I still had an account.

Oh ok. I went to the "Do I Have A Blazernet ID" link and when I entered my information records showed I had an ID. I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or just standard for everyone who applies. Waiting really isn't my strong point LoL.

I would definitely say that is a good sign! I know what you mean, I have wanted to contact them so bad to ask if they've made decisions but I don't think they would like that lol.

I sure hope so :saint: ! I applied during the orginial deadline and my application was verified a few days after the extended deadline. I was really hoping to have an answer by now. Hopefully we hear something before Christmas.

I submitted application oct 2, verified mid november... Someone from the office at uab called to get me to correct a transcript entry oversight. She then emailed me saying CAS corrected it, not to worry. Very friendly. So, I emailed her back this week politely asking the status. She said they are still reviewing applications and will make decisions in the next 3 weeks. "Probably sooner". I had asked her about it possibly hurting me that I am just finishing BSN this semester. She said not at all that my current grades wont contribute to GPA, but they just assume I would finish the degree and would have to send in those transcripts once accepted and a hold would be placed.

Also, I checked blazernet using my birthdate and email or perhaps SSN...it allowed me to create an ID, but it says limited access to sites like MYUAB. Also hoping for a nice present at Christmas!

More info on my last post... I looked through last year's group. Everyone that said they could create a blazernet id and got an error message and could get into MYUAB was accepted. They also did not get letters until around dec 16-17.

Yes, I also read the same thing regarding those dates. What program are you applying for? I emailed them Friday just checking in, I was told within a couple of weeks. Just wish I could know either way! Waiting is the worst.

So I was looking through the Blazernet site and found this in the FAQ:

"To get a BlazerID, you must be associated with UAB as a past, present, or incoming employee or student (students who last attended before 1982 may not be in the computer records). If you are not (or have not been) affiliated with UAB as an employee or student, then you cannot get a BlazerID; there are no exceptions to this rule."

So it looks very promising!!! Trying not to get a head of my self so I'm still "patiently" waiting for the acceptance or denial letter.

I applied for fnp/palliative care. I bet they send out packets /letters next week. We can torture ourselves til then. I will check my blazernet login daily I'm sure.

I'm telling myself whatever is meant to happen will happen. I would just be thrilled for the opportunity to study there!!!
