Hello Everyone,

I wanted to start this thread for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) MSN program Fall 2019 applicants. We can use this thread to keep track of the application process, GPA, application deadlines and acceptance or denial letters. Also as a way to stay sane during this stressful time. Support each other during this journey to become an Advanced Pracrice Provider.

I am applying for Fall 2019 MSN Psych Program for PMHNP. I finish my BSN in May 2019 and have my ASN with a GPA of 3.76. My GPA for the BSN should be 4.0 if all stays the same grade wise. My letters of reccomendation are from the program director ar my University, a member of the Faculty team and the Nursing Director of the Surgical Services Department at my workplace. My application letter is APA formatted with at least 3 references and close to 800 word count. Application deadline for the PMHNP track is Febraury 21, 2019.

What specialty track are you all applying to? What are yor GPA scores. Do you plan on taking the GRE? Share any thoughts.

At this point all financial aid has been posted to my account and I'm just waiting on orientation. I was accepted into the DNP program. The process for the MSN may be different.

Thank you for posting. Can you share what kind of financial aid was offered to you? Any scholarships? How difficult was to get all the immunization paperwork completed? Any other experiences of the admission process you may want to share.

Nooooooo and I don’t want to call cause I have called the so much ?? (I didn’t last week or this week). Last I heard I was told mid-May, but someone else posted and said end of April ??‍♀️

they said they are shooting for the first week of April , but are hoping to send out the letters sooner.

Oh god, oh god! Fingers crossed we all made it. Good luck to you all!

I am surprised how dead this year’s tread has been compared to previous admission cycles. On previous years there was more people posting here and more workarounds from people trying to find info early on. Many were trying the creating a blazer net student account trick and posting here on their results.

Maybe it represents less applicants this cycle? I can only hope, more chances for us ?

I noticed that too...I called again because I was reading through the previous year’s post and they were able to do “tricks” around this time to find out if they were accepted but I tried them and it didn’t work ? so I wanted to check if the “committee” had even met yet and the lady that answered the phone said they were going to finalize it and try to send the letters out mid week next week. Really nervous because of my GPA (last 60 hours is just at 3.4 - my overall is terrible ?) and because I already got denied at another college (they go by overall gpa). Also I heard that UAB’s essay was a big determining factor and I never had anyone edit or proofread mine ?

Keep your hopes up. You still have a chance! Hopefully we all find out by the end of next week and the torture of waiting is over. Maybe they finally caught up to all the tricks and thats why is not working for any of us. Good luck to all!

So far I have been able to make a pin and use that pin to sign in, but it says I don’t have authorization for the site. I am not able to make a BlazerNET ID. I hope we will all know that we got in soon!

Y’all....I can’t deal with this ? This time last year they were already receiving their letters ???
