UAB 2019 CRNA Applicants

Published

Hi friends! I know it is early, but anyone else on here that is currently applying for Samford's CRNA program or applied last year and would like to share stats? Trying to figure what my chances are on getting in this year, or if I should wait until next year re-take a few things and boost my scores/grades.

*2 years in Neuro ICU at Level 1 hospital

*Overall GPA: 3.31

*Science GPA: 3.0

*GRE: 302 (150 verbal, 152 quant)

*ACLS, PALS, CCRN

*18 hrs shadowing CRNA

*Involved in multiple committees in unit/hospital

*Student nurse & new hire RN Preceptor

*LORs from ANM, peer RN, former teacher (CRNP), & chief anesthesia resident MD (I was on night shift up until the last couple of months so I did not have a chance to establish relationships with attendings)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Would love to see other applicants stats!!

They've already sent me a waitlist email. Not sure how many are on but I personally know 4 people on it

Specializes in CCRN.

I received a waitlist email as well

Does anyone know anyone that has gotten in after being waitlisted? Only put one clinical site option on application

I'm in! Who else received a letter of acceptance? To those that didn't get in, don't give up if this is your dream!

I got my acceptance email this afternoon also!

I'm in as well! Cant wait to meet all of you next year! And for all of those that didn't get in, don't worry keep your head up and keep applying there is still hope!

Well shucks. Add me to the list of people who got waitlisted. Anyone holding out hope? And for the people who got in- Congrats!

I also got in! I'm interviewing at Samford still but trying to decide which program just incase I get accepted to both. Anyone have any good advice? I think they're both great programs but want to see which one is best for me!

PICURN93, here's my info!

2 years Neuro ICU @ Level 1 Trauma Center

GRE 313 (155 quantitative, 156 verbal, 4 writing)

GPA 3.6

Extensive shadowing (50 hours)

CCRN

Don't give up on it if this is what you really want! If you haven't done CCRN yet, definitely do that and if your GPA is suffering, it would help to retake science classes that you didn't do well in.

Specializes in OR.

Didn't make it into UAB, but got my acceptance letter for Samford University's DNP Anesthesia program!! I'm beyond ecstatic!!!

I'll also be attending UAB! Anyone know if there's a Facebook group yet?

I'm in and so excited. Anyone else from the Atlanta area?
