Hey guys I know we have months before the application due date but I have just recently decided that I am going to apply for UA's MEPN program. I'm currently finishing up microbiology and will finish off my prerequisites once I complete organic chemistry in the fall. I am extremely excited and also nervous to be applying. I still have to take the HESI so if you guys can offer any tips on how to prepare for it especially the vocab section that'd be great! Does anyone know how many apply vs are accepted and the stats of those who are usually accepted into the program? Also I'd greatly appreciate any insight on how the program is from students that have graduated from the program or current students of the program. Thanks!
Congrats to all that were accepted into the MEPN program. I am a current MEPN student at the Phoenix campus. I was reading through the threads and saw a lot of people seem anxious about the grad college acceptance. I remember having the same nerves when I was accepted. Just to reassure you all, if you follow all of the outlined steps, you WILL be accepted by the graduate college. The only reason you have to apply to the graduate college as well is because the Master's portion of the MEPN degree is awarded by the graduate college while the RN portion is awarded by CON. It's kind of confusing at first, but acceptance to the graduate college is just a formality and not something to stress about as long as you follow the steps outlined and complete all of your paperwork.
While you all are anxiously awaiting the start of the program, I recommend completing your BLS certification if you haven't done so already. This is a requirement of all nursing programs, so even if you applied to multiple programs, this is a good thing to just get out of the way. Also, a basic review of your anatomy and physiology is helpful for your first nursing class that you will begin in May. The nursing assessment book that is required would be worth looking through prior to the start of classes, especially if it has been a while since you have taken A & P.
I hope this helps to ease everyone's mind. Please feel free to message me separately if you have any questions about the program or the Phoenix campus specifically.

I’m having trouble accessing the booklist. Do you happen to know the title of the nursing assessment book offhand? And really any other book you think is worth pre-studying

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to move to Phoenix as my husband is in the military stationed here in Tucson. I was put on the list if anyone wants to switch or if spots become available in Tucson (which I'm really hoping happens).
Hello, and congrats! I live in red rock, which is an hour and 15 min from the phoenix campus. I'm also on the wait list to transfer, because Tucson is so much closer and I own my home. My husband works and my son goes to school so I can't really move
I'm super nervous about getting there on time everyday coming from so far away (traffic, accidents, etc.) I'm hoping to work it out where I can drive up there and back 2 days a week (if carpooling then I can drive us one day and the other person the other day). That way we'll at least each be saving a tank of gas a month at least. The other 3 days a week I am hoping to be able to stay with a family member.

So I would urge you to confirm with CON before spending the money, just in case they change anything. Here is a link to the book they required for our first class last summer:
You will also be starting with Pathophysiology, so a general review of any Patho content will be helpful to just jump right into the content. It is very fast paced, so the more you just touch up on content you haven't been exposed to in a while, the better. I hope this helps!

I would join now. I have and there’s already information on there for the 2019 cohort.
