UA MEPN 2016

Published

Hello! Just wanted to see if anyone else is applying to the University of Arizona MEPN program for summer 2016. I just applied a week or so ago and it's going to be a long wait!

That is great to hear! I thought there were only 90 spots?

Not bad odds! I thought it was closer to 90 also, but maybe the Phoenix cohort is increasing in size?? I asked for Tuscon preference. Guess it's back to the waiting game. Have you guys all got your FCC application and prints in?? I would do that ASAP if you haven't because they want the final cards by 1 April and who knows how long it will take. I looked back at some old threads and it seemed to be anywhere from 2 weeks to months to get the card. I figure if I don't get in, the card is good for 6 years (I believe that is correct) so then I would have it ready to reapply.

They said the Tucson cohort is increasing to around 44 this year and that they'll notify everyone via email on Friday afternoon. Thankfully it's not a long waiting game!

When you say the Tucson chapter is increasing to around 44, do you mean it is adding 44 additional new spots than previous years or only having 44 spots this year? #anxious

Tucson cohort is taking 66 people and the phoenix one is taking 48

nevermind, already answered!

Interesting; one cohort got smaller and one increased. I'll take either, but would prefer Tuscon.

Sorry, the Phoenix chapter is increasing!

I am so glad we don't have to wait an eternity to find out whether or not we got in, but it feels like time has slowed just waiting for the 5th of February to get here. I think I did awful in my interview, so I'm trying to think positive while also preparing myself for the possibility of rejection. I'm great at everything BUT interviews, and I really let my nerves get the best of me that day. It's like my Achilles heel. :banghead:

@Super2016, Keep in mind it was only worth 20% of your application score :) If you're rocking those grades and the essays-- you'll be fine. I hear you though, it was over in a flash. I felt like I was talking a million miles a minute and afterwards wished I would have turned it down a notch. Ah! I'm already setting up a happy hour so I can either celebrate or commiserate! So nerve wracking!

I felt the same way after I was done with the interview. I had better answers to the questions once it was over. I'm just praying I get accepted.

I really hope my good grades count for something
