Has anyone been admitted to U of Calgary 2013 Jan intake yet.

i got in for the degree-holder program. How about you? Good luck!

I am on hold. I missed the automatic admission gpa by a hair.

As far as I know the department is lowering it to fill the seats. They will go through everyone on hold (which goes from a 3.39 to a 2.5 I believe) and see how far they will lower it. It might be half a point, it might be 3. It will depend on what fills the seats.

The admissions office said they are expecting to know if they are lowering it and what they are lowering it to in about a week. The it will take some more time for them to go through our files and update us. They still expect end of November for final decisions on anyone who met all the requirements, but did not have a 3.4.

Hope that helps!:)

Congrats Yiersan. i called admissions office and the guy said they are waiting to hear from the department.

Hello!

I called admissions as well and had a nice 20 minute chat with them:) That is where I got all that info from:)

They are waiting on the department to make a decision if and how much they will lower the gpa. But the fact that we have not been "wait-listed" means there are still seats to fill.

It's gonna take a bit, but hopefully we will know soon!

Good luck! I do hope we both get in!

For the transfer program you need a 3.8 or higher for the AD program you need a 3.4 or higher.

Yes. 3.4 was the automatic acceptance gpa that they set for the after degree. It doesn't mean that it will fill all the seats. So far, it looks like it has not...which is why the department is deciding if and what

they are going to lower it to.

I'm in!!

Any news yet on your end?:)

Hey I'm looking to apply for next year and I was wondering, from those of you who had already applied, do they focus mainly on academics or is there a supplemental application as well? Just wondering if they take volunteer and work experience into consideration.

Thanks!!

In addition to your formal application you can also submit a diverse qualitifaction application that takes into account other factors such as volunteer, work experience and hardships.
