Hey you all! I'm Lulu and I'm new to the forum, I've been checkin out this site for a while and decided to officially join. I'm currently a high school student soon to go to college and I'm very interested in nursing!
Would you all provide me with an idea of what a typical day in the life of a nursing student (BSN) is like?
What is challenging for you? What do you enjoy?
Thanks very much in advance!

I am a traditional BSN student. I would have to say very carefully consider why you want to get a BSN. I went ahead and am getting my BSN because I know I don't want to be a floor nurse for the rest of my career. I knew in high school I was interested in becoming a nurse scientist or nurse practitioner. A little hint: do not assume that because clinical is 3 credit hours, you will be there for 3 credit hours. most schools divide the actual number of clinical hours (my school divides by 3) to get the amount of clinical credit hours. Like, my junior year, I was in lecture or clinical for 25 hours/week, but I was taking 17 credit hours. Also, I would take as many credit hours as you feel comfortable with during your freshman and sophomore years-including summer-to lighten the load later on.
My schedule for next semester (spring of senior year):
Monday-Leadership II 1-2:50p
Tuesday-Med/Surg 9:30-10:45, Clinical (we get our patients) 3-7p
Wed-Clinical 6:30-3
Thurs-Tuesday-Med/Surg 9:30-10:45, Independent study 1-4
Friday-Free day (in order to catch up on all the homework!)
