I'm in the process of applying for TJC's transition program for Spring 2019.
I'm currently living about 5-6h away from Tyler, but will be moving if I'm accepted.
Just wanted to see if maybe there is anyone else on here that is also applying for the program OR anyone who has previously applied &/or completed the program!
Thank yall!
Ok so i called and asked, this is what i got. im a bit upset because idwas told something completely different and feel jipped, because i could have made it:
because more people were "compliant before me" they did not consider me. my immunizations were pending. Prior to uploading a letter stating it was pending, i called to verify that so long as i had a letter saying it was pending from the lab they would still consider me. well that apparently was not it.
I have an appointment on Monday over the phone with an advisor. I was told in my email it was becos of my points. The only thing I can think of is my ATI I scored level 1. Maybe they didn't pick a lot of ppl with level 1 not sure. Will see what they say Monday. I had all my immunizations. Also on the rejection email it says I should continue with the rest of my immunizations which I only have flu which is not due till Oct/31. But I wonder why I should if they don't plan on taking me smh.......
I know that level 1 was the minimum score that you could get to be considered?
I have no idea. I'm at a loss that some of you had the same or more points than I did, but I got an interview? This entire process is confusing! I wonder how many applied, how many got interviews & if it's still set to 24 for the final amount that they're accepting.
Let us know what they tell you Monday after your phone appt.
Oh girl, I didn't think that you were upset about anything related to me!
I 100% understand why you're mad! When I applied to a program last year (for the second time) I was really adamant about making sure that I had everything completed as soon as possible. They didn't accept me the first time because they take their LVN graduates over other schools & I didn't graduate from their LVN program. I bugged the secretary multiple times to see if there was anything else I could do/turn in & she told me "you don't have anything to worry about, you're good" & then I got my email & I didn't get accepted "due to small program size." I was SO frustrated!
I'm going to apply for the program, again for the third & FINAL time--their apps are due next month & I want a back up plan in case Tyler doesn't take me. The interview email came with an attachment for their interview process. It's FIVE stages. It's pretty intense. I'm more nervous now than I was waiting for the email! Are you going to apply anywhere else?!
This is my first time applying for any transition program. IDK Im just disappointed because point wide i could have made it to Stage 2, but because of immunizations i did not. At least now I know that I CAN do it, I just need to get make sure everything is ready to go like 5 years before its due.
Currently looking at applying at Panola College. they offer a hybrid online transition as well and cinical can be completed with in a 70 mile radius of carthage; which Tyler falls into. If that fails then i will finish pre-reqs for BSN and apply at UT Tyler.
I'll have to look into that. I'm 4h away from Tyler so I don't know if I would be able to apply there--but I considered moving! Every local transition program is 4-5 days/week & I really liked the idea of the hybrid. I can't find many places that offer it! At least you have all of your stuff ready to go, so you can apply elsewhere!
Sorry for the late post...but yes I will be moving on to stage 2...I was scared for a minute. Especially when it came to the points because Sprince17 had more points than me. Not sure how they determine who move on..I was really hoping that since they were taking so long, that it meant everyone was moving on...
Congratulations to you. I hope and pray you both get accepted. It's always good to have backup, I guess that's why am not too worried about Tyler. I will be applying to Trinity valley community college and Grayson College so I plan on been in a program next year. I just like the weekend schedule that Tyler had over most of the other schools. I also want a 12month program which Trinity does supposed to 15months at Grayson. Am so happy for you nursing2004 that you got an interview this time. What did you do differently this time around if any??
