Tyler Junior College ADN program Fall 2012

I'm waiting for a response to get in the TJC adn program and I'm about to go nuts. I didn't get in last time because I didn't have enough points. I hope I get in this time. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. Is anyone else going through the same thing I'm going through. Good Luck to anyone else waiting for a response from TJC.

Got fitted and ordered scrubs, bookstore said they will be ordered in July so hopefully they receive them before Aug., in the mean time I have purchased some of the books for the fall, skimming though them just to be ready on what to expect. :)

Glad to know the scrubs are in I'll need to go get fitted. Already registered for classes. Waiting for the orientation packet to come in they said it will have the list of books we need in it. I'm working up till July then quitting my job so I have have a month vacation. Haven't had a vacation in over 3 years. Can't wait for classes to start, I think is the most excited for school I have ever been.:yeah:

Got fitted for my scrubs today and received the packet in the mail from TJC giving us more info.

Looking through some of the course syllabus' I saw that a blood pressure cuff was optional for Health Assessment course is anyone getting one?

Hey guys,

I'm going to be applying for Spring '13. I'm from Shreveport. I haven't taken the HESI yet. What study guide do you all recommend using for that test?

Pink Lady1 I used the HESI study guide Hastings has it or go on amazon. Just review your A&P and math conversions. Good Luck!!

I used the Evolve Reach Study Guide for the HESI, It can help you ace the exam... ISBN# 9781416056355, I bought mine on Amazon for around $30... Good Luck..

Purchased the Fall 2012 TJC ADN Student Handbook from the campus bookstore along with the last text book I needed to complete the required books for the fall... talk about putting a hurt in the wallet. Doing some reading before beginning the program...

I bought my packet also. Haven't bought any books yet. I received the background check thing in the mail yesterday but I've already had it done cause I was an alternate for Kilgore college this fall, so I already received a thing from the nursing board saying I was clear. How do we go throgh the declaratory process?

Never had that happen to me, I really don't know. Might want to call the school of nursing to find out what your options are. Maybe you can use the same clarification letter.
