TWU TCU UTA Midwestern fall 2011 hopefulls!

U.S.A. Texas

Hey everyone!

So my applications to TWU TCU and UTA nursing schools are all in! I will be applying to Midwestern as soon as their application period opens. I'm super, super nervous about getting in. I really just want to get in anywhere. My stats aren't the greatest considering I got 88-89's in most of my sciences.

My stats are:

GPA: 3.4 (3.8 at TWU with .4 pre reqs boost)

HESI score: 90%ish composite

TEAS V score: 87% composite

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with similar stats and I was wondering how much emphasis these schools put on their entrance exam scores. I was also wondering if these scores would be considered good. I'm really desperate for any support you guys want to throw at me.

Anyway, good luck to everyone out there! :yeah:

Unfortunately, I don't have any information regarding what TCU's nursing school looks for in terms of numbers, but these are my stats...

My cumulative gpa is 2.7 because I got a 2.5 gpa after 1 year at my old school. Then I moved back home because I wasn't ready for the jump to a 4-year just yet (as you can see). I also decided to change my major to nursing after moving home. My new CC gpa is 3.6, but that's only from 6 classes. Thus, my cumulative gpa is 2.7 :(

I'm really really really hoping TCU takes my upward trend into account... That's what I'm the most worried about. I got a 93% on my HESI A2, and I have loads of volunteer experience. I volunteer for an exchange student organization I went to Japan with in high school (for 1 year), and I also volunteers at a Shriners Children's Hospital. I did volunteer at another hospital before this on their orthopedic surgery nursing floor.

I have no information for you. I just wanted to comment again because I haven't seen too many TCU applicants on here. :D Good luck to you though!!!!!!! You have a good gpa and HESI score. It's much better than my gpa...

I applied to tcu school and the nursing program for fall,2011. Do you guys have any idea of when acceptance letters will be mailed.

Not until around April 15th!

Does anybody know what a competitive candidate has as far as GPA/HESI for UT-Arlington SON?

Hello I am applying for the nursing school for entry in the spring of 2012. I am unsure of what other nursing schools to apply at...Do we really get a .4 added to our gpa at TWU? Im really nervous bc I am worried about the Teas exam :( can you give me some helpful advice on how it was ? Thanks !

to get the .4 added to your GPA @ TWU you have to have completed 32 pre-req hours through TWU.

If you apply to TCU or UTA you will need the HESI-A2.

If you are looking for a BSN your options in the area are UTA, TCU or TWU.

If you are just looking to become an RN you can look at TCC, El Centro, Brookhaven, or Weatherford College. These are the programs I know of.

The Dallas bases programs, like El Centro also use the HESI-A2 exam. They are assosiate programs, so there a fewer pre-reqs and you can always bridge afterwards to recieve your BSN. It's the RN to BSN program. Hope this helps!
