Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

I'm a CNA with a BS in behavior science. But TWU only looks at scores and GPA

After the whole “Regret to Inform” you line, it states they recognize my strong academic success and wish to congratulate me on my acceptance to College of Health Sciences. They suggested I pursue a Bachelor in Kinesiology, Nutrition, or Health Studies. And they offered a $1000 scholarship for my “willingness to change majors”.
I’m guessing this is there way of “suggesting” I forget about nursing??! Would someone else who received a rejection letter please confirm.
Thank you.
And congrats to those who made it. My heart truly is happy for you. I know how hard each of you to get there.
Mine said the exact same thing. 2018 fall applicants had 3 people get acceptance letters in June. So hopefully, fingers crossed, there might still be hope!
I feel so thankful that this program has taken a chance on me. Literally in tears as I opened the acceptance letter today morning. Congratulations to everyone who'll be starting nursing school this fall!
For those of y'all who didn't get accepted this time around, please don't lose heart. Life is a long journey, with many ups and downs, and if you want something badly enough, the universe will conspire to help you achieve it.
TWU is a very unique school in having an admission process that is largely transparent and, from what I can tell, almost entirely point-based. They looked at my most recent grades and my TEAS scores and decided to let me in. (Had they looked at my overall academic record, I don't know if I would have made the cut.) I remember the adviser at the Houston information session mentioning that folks who finished up their prereqs at TWU and folks who earn a bachelors degree gain additional 'preference points.' For those who were offered scholarships to complete other bachelors degrees in health science first, know that this might be the reason why. I'm beginning my journey into nursing as someone who's turning 30. I share this just to say that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, but sometimes it takes time to get to where you're meant to be.
After weeks of waiting, we finally know our fate... What we choose to do from here on out is entirely up to us.
Namaste. ?
Just now, NJ28 said:We should probably all post what program we got into and our stats for future applicants so they don’t have to scroll through a million pages lol
