TWU Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys, I know it's a little early, however, I decided to start this thread as the application process will be soon upon us.

How are you studying for the TEAS?

Wishing all the best! :)

Hey guys and good luck to you all. I plan on applying to the weekend/evening program and i was feeling ok until I found this website  I have 49.2 points according to the spreadsheet. I'm extremely nervous. My nursing core GPA is 3.84 made a B in AP2 and my TEAS was 82.7. I do not want to take the TEAS again I would honestly rather take AP2 which would give me an extra 2 points almost and at least put me above 50. If I don't get in this time around I will probably take AP2 again or apply to Houston. I have a bachelors already.

Hi,

I am also applying to TWU hopefully by the fall 2018 or spring 2019. I am really worried about being a competitive applicant, and would love any and all advice. I graduate with a BS in healthcare administration this spring, and will only need to take the micro pre-req before applying. Has anybody taken the HESI or know of the best study guides? I have a relatively good GPA, 3.75 major GPA. My science GPA is about the same. The whole applying process is new to me, and quite frightening as they only look at GPA and test scores for acceptance. I have worked several jobs to put myself through school so my GPA took a few hits over the years, but am unable to reflect that with my application for TWU. Suggestions and recommendations are very much appreciated. Also, if anybody ever wants to study or exchange study tips or questions, please reach out and we can exchange emails.

Best of luck to everyone, and am hoping to learn alongside you all at TWU nursing program!

I almost want to retake A&P1, but I'm out of time! Ugh would give me like 3 more points too which I desperately need.... good luck to everyone!

Yes, I'm considering retaking A&P 2 ( I took it in 4 weeks over the summer and got a B) depending on what grade I get in STATS. Also, my results from the TEAS will also determine if I retake A&P 2 in the winter term to boost my points. I'm sooooo nervous...I took the practice TEAS and got an overall score of 80, so now I know where to focus my studying to improve my chances of getting a high score for the real test (12/2). GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Are you in Dallas? What school offers AP2 in the winter if so? Thanks!

yes I am...im going to DCCCD community colleges and they offer them during "winter term"

Awe really so do I. I haven't seen it which campus? Or has it maybe just not been released yet?

yes, its usually not released until they open up early registration for next semester so maybe around the middle/end of Nov since the semester ends 12/7

Hello future nursing students!

Just popping in to alert you all to some upcoming information sessions we will have on our nursing program. We love that you all help each other out on this site, especially at times like now when we have some vacant advising positions and can't accommodate all students who want an appointment.

However, if you would like to get in to get some of those questions answered directly from the source, you can sign up to attend an information session. We will be offering two BS in Nursing information sessions this semester - one in Dallas (this Friday, Nov. 10th) and one in Houston (December 15th). For more information and to sign up, go to the College of Nursing website and scroll down to "Featured Events."

Nursing - Texas Woman's University

Nursing will also present information sessions about our Dallas and Houston programs on the Denton campus at each Pioneer Preview Day and Transfer Connection events offered through the Admissions office. There's a Pioneer Preview Day this Saturday. For more information on those, go to:

I'm applying for Fall 2018 as well Houston. I just have to retake Nutrition but it has to be finish before Feb 1st and that won't happen . I plan on going to the info session in dec.

Can you not take Nutrition during a winter/flex term? If your school has it?

You can but my school doesn't have it í ½í¸•
