TWU Fall 2021 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

Has anyone that applied to the N/W  program received an eligibility email yet?  I know that people were receiving them last week but for the traditional program.

Still waiting here. Due to the inclement weather we’ve had all week, there most likely won’t be any eligibility emails sent out until at least next week.

Hey everyone!
I just applied at the beginning of this month. I just realized that some courses I retook at TWU Denton didn’t change my grade, because the original I took at a different school. When they are doing the admission score sheet I hope they use my recent scores, and not my old ones.

With recent ones I have:

Nursing Core GPA: 3.7

Prerequisite GPA: 3.6

TEAS: 87.3

Admission score: 62.2

If they don’t take it my admission score is a lot lower, because with the scores I had from one bad semester my overall GPA is a 3.3. But I retook them, and on my transcript it didn’t change, but I hope it does here.
Good luck everyone ??

Hi! They will take the higher grade for the calculation and honestly the only GPA that matters for the score is the nursing GPA and your TEAS score, plus any considerations you might have

Just wanted to chime in here to remind people of a few things as I remember the panic I felt when waiting for word from TWU:

  1. Nothing will change "early" to let you know if you've been admitted like UTH or UTMB. There will be no major change in Pioneer Portal, and you will remain "Verified" in NursingCAS. No matter how often you check Pioneer Portal or NursingCAS, you won't have a decision until you get an acceptance email from TWU. Everyone finds out at the same time when the email goes out to the email you used for NursingCAS (decisions do NOT go to TWU email).
  2. When you get your eligibility letter has no bearing on your admission status or the competition/how good your score is. I submitted my application on the deadline for Spring 2021, and I waited for nearly two months for an eligibility letter. My score was 56. I was still admitted in the first round.

I know the wait really stinks but with TWU, it is truly a waiting game. Best wishes to all, and please don't hesitate to reply to me here if you have any questions for a Houston J1 (our schedule is different from Dallas's cohort).

My friend who submitted application later than me already got her eligibility email. I don't know should I shoot an email to advisor or stay waiting. ??

You are right, so annoying ? .

They say apply early blah blah.

Guess what ? Those who submitted late get their application reviewed first. Wth!!

Let's be patient..Time will tell. It's all good..

Yup, thats such a pain.

deep breath and look out for subject line “TWU Nursing Application - Status Updated”

I really want to email advisor soo bad. But I guess I should wait for like a month before asking them.

Personally, I feel like emailing them will be a waste of time because they will still get to it when they get to it. I’m sure there is some rule against speeding up a specific application solely because an email was received regarding its status.

No need to bother them.

Normally, One would think they would  review the application, starting with those who sent in their application earlier.

Apparently, thats not the case.

Oh! Well..

I totally agree. I emailed an advisor almost two weeks ago over an unrelated question I had, and have not received a response whatsoever from them. I just chalked it up to them being extremely busy during this time. Patience is a virtue...

They say apply early to TWU, not the nursing program.
the advisors split up the alphabet so that is why it is not in order. They only have 3 advisors compared to them usually having 5-6.
