Hello, I am taking the TEAS V this Thursday and sooo nervous. I am taking the second practice test from the study guide tomorrow and trying not to worry too much... Anyone else applying to TWU-Dallas for Fall 2012?
Hi everyone,
I'm surprised to see that this thread isn't very active. Not going to lie, I was a lurker on this thread before I actually decided to make this post. I just wanted to let everyone know that the approximate number of people applying for Fall 2012 is 880. (AKA I'm getting a letter of regret in April ) I didn't do so well on my TEAS V and got a 75. My GPA is a 3.95 with a science GPA of 3.5. And lastly, I have two brownie points (A&PII and Statistics). What does everyone else's grades look like? It seems like everyone has three brownie points and an 85+ on their TEAS V so I'm a bit disheartened. Oh well.
Anywho, good luck everybody!

I was wondering the same thing because I was aware there were many applicants for the Fall 2012; so this will be a pretty competitive applicant pool. (Btw how did u get that stat of applicants? Was that given to you by an advisor?) However, it isn't a reason to get discouraged! There are so many other factors to consider such as wait-listing and just that you would be surprised of who can be accepted. I scored 70% on the TEAS so I was a bit discouraged, but now I'm more positive about my chances. My GPA is a 3.86 for science pre-reqs with the bump a 4.26 and all A's in first attempts except A&P2 lab. Hopefully those considerations rather than my TEAS score itself, will get me in. If not, I applied to four other schools. Did u apply to any other schools?
Cheer up and stay positive!
I plan to do it next week. The Hep B is a series of 3 shots + titer test that takes 7 months total and it's required to start clinicals.
I thought we would time for all that after knowing for sure if we're accepted or not, and after having orientation, but the TWU website says that we need the immunizations ready BEFORE class. Actually, according to that, I'm already late for Hep B. I wish they would give the applicants clear information to plan with enough time. I just found out because someone that's applying for several schools was getting the shots "just in case" and I decided to google it.

And I've heard there are certain certifications (CPR and others?) that are supposed to be required. I couldn't find anything on the website, so I'll email the advisors again.
Finally, it seems that we have more readers than posters on this thread. Please join the conversation so we can help each other with information. We know at this point that missing anything could mean being rejected and an entire semester lost (plus retaking TEAS, paying to re-apply, etc.)

Yeah, I actually currently reside in Denton, but if I get into TWU's Dallas nursing program I could just stay at my dad's down the street in Dallas and commute!
