Hi I'm looking to enroll in the Twin Rivers Adult school LVN program in Sacramento. I tried to contact someone from the school but we are playing phone tag. This program will work the best because its a part time program, close to home and cheaper then other private or adult Ed programs. I would like to know if anyone has enrolled, planning on enrolling or has graduated from the program. What is the flow of the program sense it's a two years program, and how are the staff?

Hi this is an old post but I was wondering if you graduated from Twin Rivers? I work full time 8-5pm and I am in desperate need in trying to pursue getting my LVN career, but I need a part time program because I have to have income to pay for my house and support myself. If you can tell me the following it would be great! I am starting to do my pre-reqs before I pay for my CNA class I want to make sure this program will comply with my schedule. I keep trying to call but no one picks up.

I am takingPhysio/Anatomy 100 (the one that qualifies for the LVN program at SCC and Medical Language at SCC will this count for the pre-reqs?

How often does the program start? Do they only take student once year? I will be done by with pre-reqs by the end of this year and I am wondering how soon I can get in.

What are the hours? On the site it stated 5:30pm twice a week for the first 1-5 months but what are the hours after that when you add the clinical's?

Also, what days are these.

I have no choice but to work full time and go to school. I own a house and support myself so I really need a part time program but being a nurse has always been my dream. I am very hesitant to go to Kaplan because of the reviews and pass rate and Twin Rivers seems cheaper (even though its 22k right now its still cheaper than Unitek or Kaplan). My mom is sick which geared me to want to pursue my career as a nurse because I know I would be great. I plan on downgrading my hours once I get into the peek of the program but I have no choice but to work and make money at the same time as school.

Hello! I also hope to enroll at Twin Rivers, from what I was told, the program starts once a year in August. I currently have my CNA license and plan on taking the medical terminology pre-reqs this summer at sierra. luckily i knocked out the anatomy pre-req already at CSUS.

I'm not sure if you mean you are going to do your CNA training at Twin Rivers, if so I suggest going to Sacmed training. they were the cheapest program I found and it was 19 days! I think students who do their CNA training at twin rivers have a bit of an advantage though. But honestly not a lot of people know about Twin Rivers so their priority does make much of a difference to me.

I'll find the packet I was given that had what days classes are held and let you know.

I'm in the same boat as you, I have to go to a part time program. I planned and was almost enrolled into Kaplan so I could start next month, but now i'm expecting a baby due in september so plans got pushed back, so I planned on starting in december, BUT now my husband may be deploying and Twin Rivers August start date next year is looking the most promising. lol

I graduated from Twin Rivers last year. First let me say that the program structure is great. The first semester is pharmacology and nutrition, then you move on to nursing fundamentals and begin clinicals. The clinicals start early at 6:30 am twice a week and lecture is once a week starting at 9 am. Once you get half way into med surge you begin clinicals at sutter general and you go back to the pm schedule and stay in the pm schedule till the last two classes ob and peds.

You will have a hard time getting ahold of anybody since they are lacking staff at this time. I was told that the program will be on hold until they restructure the program and hire more staff. You may want to call the Twin Rivers adult school main campus to get more info.

The program itself was great the first year and the clinical sites are the best in Sac. The second year is HARD. They have excellent pass rates but there is good reason for this... It's a hard program comparable to Sac city. They make you do a dosage calculation test every semester and you get 3 chances to pass or you are out of the program. We started with over 20 students and 8 graduated. It may be a part time program but it requires full time studying.

Oh yes I should mention that you receive extra points by competing the pre reqs at Twin Rivers. However they are not transferable.
