Has anyone heard of this? A manager where I'm at told someone she might turn them into the BON for inadequate documentation / assessments. Is this possible? Is it a common thing? I've worked at places where the nurses didn't document anything except medication administration.

It's not nearly the most common reason to file a complaint, but a pattern of conduct displaying poor judgement, poor nursing skill, etc. could definitely lead to a complaint being filed. In the right circumstances, I bet a case could be made that care is negligent based upon the quality of charting alone.
To be clear, literally anyone can file a complaint, the more pressing issue is what kind of impact does the complaint have. Even baseless complaints can be nightmares if the allegations are severe enough.

Yes, people have been sanctioned for inadequate documentation.

I'm curious about this place where the only documentation was for med administration?
I'm curious about this place where the only documentation was for med It was a snf. We were supposed to write skilled nursing notes on patients certain days of the week, like it would rotate, and some of the nurses never did that. I did, and due to our charting system, I could see that some nurses werent doing them at all. I thought that was more of an employment issue than bon?
