Hello. I am curious what new information has been discovered regarding tuition forgiveness for nurses. I know sometimes you can work in an underserved area for so many years to receive assistance, but I am curious what info others out there have been able to find. I am currently in Michigan, but would be open to nearby relocation in the future after nursing school. I am not currently in a program yet, but hope to be accepted into an accelereated 2nd career BSN degree soon. I am determined!

I just heard that almost all the hospitals in the St. Louis area have done away with loan forgiveness. Only 2 still offer it. Most offer tuition reimbursement so if you work there while in school they will pay for part if your schooling.

If I'm not mistaken the university that I plan on attending sets up great preceptorships with it's university hospital. It's only for the top few % of students, and I believe you have to sign a 5 year contract with them. I plan on living where I currently reside well into the future, and I am very interested in the program. I just have to outshine my peers and make them want me!!
